Do you get anything from the riddles?

Just curious if you get anything for collecting them all aside from an achievement trophy. Like an extra cutscene or something.

you get an achievement and an in-game "riddle master" certificate with an accompanying song. it has no effect on the story as far as i can tell

Another question about end game:
At the end when I found all the hidden friends, the dog mentions a new island opening up? I tried to find it but no luck. Did I miss something or was that just eluding to the ending

It should be on your map. It's not a new island, just a new location. There's... not much there.
