But if you're just looking to play the game once through and be done I'd wait. From what I've seen in the short time I've owned Volcanoids they're still actively working on a lot of aspects of the game and it's just getting better and better. So many neat things changed from last patch to this one. Lots of little quality of life things that just improve the experience. From the posts I've seen there's plenty more of that to come yet.
Just playing on the normal difficulty, the tutorial seems to block experimentation? Like you're forced to progress as the game tell you to?
I've noticed trying to even craft Sulfur Powder, it won't let me anymore even though I have the required stuff among other things.
I'm a little confused about this game. I don't mind a tutorial to get things started, but a lot of the fun in these games in experimenting with different things and figuring out how to go about the progressing.
Does the game ever just let you go ham on the normal difficulty?
No, I figured it out. You have to have the raw material in the Drill Storage.
I keep playing it like I'm on Valheim, as in, I have the item in my own inventory when I try to combo it with the refinery station.
Is there anyway to disable the tutorial "quests"?
That's kinda what I don't get. These tutorials are "Quests" being given to me by the Captain guy. So does the "main game" without the tutorial not have these quests?
If the tutorial is like this all the way through the game then I don't want to play it lol. It defeats the whole point of exploring the game and figuring things out.
It would be like playing Valheim and the 'tutorial bird character' saying to you "Ok, now you need a 5 pieces of wood. Ok, now you need 2 rocks. Ok, now you need to build a fire."
\I think teaching the basics is fine, like how to place modules down, repair the drill, fill the ammo back up. All that stuff is great, but it should set you loose at some point. The game also has a whole glossary thing too which would be way better imo for people if they need up than to be spoon fed each little component of the game.
I guess the easiest solution for what I'm asking for is to be able to disable to tutorial and/or give me long term objectives instead.
Using Valheim as an example. The game teaches you how to operate the workbench and how to pick stuff up then it gives you a long term objective, which is to kill the first boss. You still have to figure out how to go about doing that, like how to combo items and whatnot. That's the fun part.
I'm not sure what that second part means.
I've already replied to you on another thread, but again ; it sounds like you think you HAVE to accept every quest. You don't, otherwise why would there be an "Accept quest" button ? If you had to do them, it would start the next quest on its own automatically. About long term objectives with less precise and exact directions, again, I agree.
