Sandstone Passage

I have the hardened drill, but can't go into the sandstone passages. Is this a bug or is something missing that is stopping me from going into the new passage still?

You have to destroy the lava source as well in order to be able to go through

And the marker is a marker. Not something you can click to interact with. It just indicates that there's a passage here, to go through, you drive like you do normally.

To state it even clearer, sandstone is just the yellowish colored rock. You drive through it. The "passage to area 2" is not a hole you go through to get deeper. It just shows you that you can now go through this colored rock with your drill.
