You've given them 36 hours to respond. May you never be in a position where someone is as strict to you as you are to them.

Of course it will be possible to redefine controls.

iv'e played a crap load of EA games, and 90% of them never have remapping in, lets hope im wrong on this one, but i doubt it.

Just got a response from developers - the functionality is already there - when the launcher appears, it has a "Display" and "Input" tabs. Switch to the Input tab and redefine your controls as much as you want.

Kudos.

Hi, it's not part of ingame options yet, it's part of the launcher as @Alcator mentioned.

Changing options through launcher is impractical and we're moving away from it, input is last part. If you're wondering why bother with launcher in the first place, it was there for us as part of the engine so we used it.

Iv'e used quite a few of these launcher ones, and they don't work properly. i tried to put in arrow keys for WASD and it would not accept them. hope yours works for all keybinds.

Hello, Retributionz, I just tested it in the Alpha. Apparently, both WASD and arrow keys are fully working (I checked) and are even predefined by developers to work, so you should be fine playing left-handed.

The arrow keys are already bound as secondary keys to same actions as WSAD. What other keys are you usually using? I can assign them as secondary so it's ready right away.

The actions: fire, jump, sprint, use, inventory, map, weapon switch (1-5, next, prev), ammo swap
WillPlays73[TTV] Jan 23, 2019 @ 12:47pm
main keys i use are arrow keys for moving, then delete for jump, end for crouch, the whole keypad(if needed) pgup=ammo swap, home, insert=Use, Backspace for inventory,M map. Weapon switch, mouse wheel. Sprint rightshift. They are my main keys.

And thank you. so nice to find a helpful developer for once :) x x

I've added following keys:
Jump: Delete
Weapons: 1-5 on keypad, 0 - empty hands
Ammo swap: Page Up
Use: Insert
Inventory: Backspace
Sprint: Right shift

Existing:
Map: M
Movement: Left,Right,Up,Down
Ammo swap: Middle mouse

We already use mouse wheel for item switch when building, not sure if we keep it like that or not.
Maybe I should keep ammo switch only on mouse middle and use PgUp/Down for weapon switch?

What key are you using to close menus? ESC is usually fine for right handed, but quite far for left handed.

escape is fine, i usually use that anyways. ya mouse wheel is fine for building. keep it like that and put pgup for weapon switch :)

Thank you :) x x x

Done, thanks for helping us make the game better!

Thank you for making it easier for us Lefty's :)
Mystro Jan 24, 2019 @ 10:18am
For the record most lefties use 8,4,5,6 on the numpad for movement as it has all the extra keys you can want right around it. Numpad keys are all too often not bindable when devs just use the off the shelf launcher option.

i never used keypad for moving, arrow keys are so much easier, plus you get access to keypad easier. and the keys above arrowkeys, but i suppose it's different for some lefty's but for me and a few friends of mine we all use arrow keys for movement. :)
