Jorma's protection invoice

what about the invoice from the "Jorma's protection"? Why do they send it to me? I get criminal points if I don't pay it

Most likely, you slept in an Unsafe bed, or passed out when not in a bed (even passing out from 100% Tiredness on top of your own bed in your own apartment with Walls IV, still counts as Unsafe). There's a 60% chance of an "event" occurring when sleeping somewhere Unsafe, usually something being stolen from your inventory or wallet... but there's now a chance that of those events, it will roll "something would have happened, but a local gang 'protected' you, and now they're invoicing you for the 'protection'".

If you are getting criminal points for not paying that invoice then it's as surzhyKore says, you passed out somewhere unsafe and a bad event would have happened to you but instead you got an invoice for protection instead, you are gonna have to pay it or tank the criminal jail time penalty.

Keep in mind that fake invoices do exist but they won't give you crime points on expiring so if your unsure if an invoice is legit or not, you can just hold it till it expires and see what happens.

Does the dog plushie do anything? It says it makes sound when thiefs are nearby but still got robbed while sleeping

nope, thought it would, but i still got a bunch of oc stolen in my house, with teir 1 walls both with it placed on the ground, and in my inventory

I just got crime points for it, but did not have an invoice in my inventory. i just picked up the mail in front of my door and there was none for the protection service
