Best Money Making For A Beginner?
Hello, I am new to the game and getting to the stumbling block of needing a lot more money in order to further improve the apartment. Raiding random houses for supplies to sell just isn't cutting it anymore.

I am trying to make and sell mash but it is extremely slow to level up, and all the bad mash is costing me money (I don't even know how or where to get a compost bin to handle it all). I read that tenants make you a lot of money, and I thought that made a lot of sense given the premise of the game, but it doesn't really seem to be that way anymore now that they only pay once a week. Carpentry seems like it might be an ok path to making money? But everything I search up has been nerfed.

tl;dr: any easy way for a very new player to make some money in the early game?

The most direct, semi-passive way to make money right now is planting crops in Kurahaara Greenhouse, in particular Rye (two big fields) and Hops (anything with plant supports), harvest and sell them to the guy and you'll make a few thousand OC per day. Another good one is to find a furniture blueprint for the Stolland Clock, which sells for a decent 48rm, but depends on One Stop Shop selling lacquer (the other parts are either O-Market fodder or fairly easy to get at the hardware stall).

As a beginner the best way to make money early is just search bins and find oven mitts/teapots/cups/plates etc and sell them to the one stop shop located in the same area as your building. until you get your first couple of tenants.

I can't even find decent storage recipes any more. I wish I could build wardrobes.
The blueprints just spawn at random so just keep re-checking all the locations where you have found blueprints to get the wardrobe blueprint. Plus I find if you clean out the first apartments you get more then enough storage items (as long as you don't sell them).

I have to say, this was probably the least helpful thing that was put in this thread, and not just because half of it is just the person rambling on about some random story that has nothing to do with the game to try to get the time up past 10 minutes.

This has been the most helpful, so I am going to mark it for the thread and leave it at that. The plant combination makes a great deal of money, which has really helped me out. I am really jealous of people who played earlier in the game before the devs nerfed the hell out of everything.

Sap commander you can play an earlier versions of the game. Just go to into game properties on your game page > betas and then select the version you want.

Farming and mashing are the best money methods I've found, I have yet to find anything that makes more money. Farming for OC and mashing for RM.

Having put more time into my current save, scam invoices are far and away the best money making method in the game, to the point where it feels like it needs a nerf. Can turn a full inventory (including pack) of stamps, envelopes and paper (aka dirt cheap worthless materials) into ~20000RM at high paperworking skill.

Does have the prerequisite of getting your debit card back and actually getting the recipe from the random rolls from the OS magazine, but literally nothing else will compare for making money.

Getting your passport further helps since the printer in the passport ladies apartment doesn't lose invoices through the wall while spamming, or well, it does but you can just go into her bedroom and pick them up, whereas the other printers in the game will just void them.

Edit: Keeping these numbers here, but the correct ratio for a full inventory is 14 stacks of envelops, 17 stacks of paper, and the rest (33 stacks) of stamps. Will leave you with a a partial stack of envelopes and papers left over, but is the most efficient load-out I've figured.

Go to a phone booth, call Swamp Publishing LLC, get a subscription to Open Sewer Magazine, I think you can also subscribe by talking to the Telemarketer intercom. Besides being a useful item to pass time an hour, it provides recipes and can boost random skills that are below 5, usually related to alcohol making I think.

huge get with magazine is getting recipe to make lockpicks from sheets of steel

HUGE, i feel like once i get faster with the machining skill the rest of the free content updates are gonna be insane. I can def see myself with the biogas reactor become a smelter. Still gonna be mashing ofc. Thank you for the phone booth tip!

Enter the Wang have you found the wardrobe blueprint yet? I still haven't found one in this play through since the update.

No luck. I've got the cabinet with top and bottom compartments, but I really want the wardrobe with a single huge storage area.

I generated 2 x detailed blueprints from the drawing board, but reading them did nothing at all. No notice in the top left of 'old recipe' or anything. Just nothing. I think it's bugged. I was kind of hoping the drawing board would open up better storage options, but no luck.
Has anyone looked into brewing/distilling/etc? I can pretty much zero out one-stop shop and liqueur store easily by making whisky. That, depending on your procedure, can give you 4 to 6k OC a day especially if you go with whisky

Mines is another great way, just get an ore crusher or 2, they are expensive but good way to make RM by dropping ore down the drop-off point (NOT the buyer guy who pays in OC) once you process them with the crushers

I am however looking for even faster/bigger payouts, so if anyone else has any better ideas do share

The most profitable way of making money right now is printing scam letters. Buying whole stock of paper, envelopes and stamps from O-market, printing and sending scam letters from all of these can yield between 2000 and 5000 RM (depending on scam letters quality and luck). But it has a downside of putting a huge fine on you, so you'd be spending at least a couple days in jail after that.

Another good way of making money is selling mechanical watches, especially if you have some brass or silver to make them from. Passmore buys them for good amount of RM. Sadly, Passmore isn't rich enough to buy gold items. We have to wait for Bazaar release as it'll add richer traders to the game. Steel items do work, but they aren't expensive and you need to craft and sell a lot of them to make significant profit. Not a hard task with abundance of steel, but that's time-consuming.

And apart from that the mashing, fermenting and distilling is the best way to make OC right now since alcohol can be sold for a very good price.

And as you said mining is profitable, too. If only we had a way to illuminate up all these dark spots while mining...

I'm rocking a big flashlight and honestly, don't even need to buy batteries. Yes the thing eats em up fast but I also find good amount of em, just use it VERY sparingly and should not have much issues with it.

Will definitely look into scamming, I am yet to give machining a try, it's just quite an expensive "hobby" to get into...however I did find some machines nearby so, yeah soon, now that I know good money can be made from it.

Also, thanks for telling me Passmore can't buy gold items, lol, I "found" alot of amazing value gold items I'm trying to "clean" so I can sell them for good cash, now I guess that won't be possible, at least with him :p Will look into that on my own tho, thanks for the hints!

I have the super flashlight from the top floor of tenement. But the problem is that I can't use any flashlight while holding a pickaxe. So I have to pause mining to turn on the light to see where's the ore, then switch to the pickaxe to continue mining in the darkness, barely seeing anything. And I have to do it every so forth, which is very annoying.

Valuable items can't be washed even with rank 10 of washing skill and the best washing machine (probably gonna change with the Bazaar update). But Passmore actually buys items even with "stolen" mark on them.

Welp, at least I got a couple of cleaning levels out of it, idea was to get more money off of em
