Drip feed updates vs big releases?
Just wanted to gauge everybody else's opinion on whether this game should have big updates released such as the teased mines update, or would rather be dripfed with smaller updates like the smaller features (e.g. subscription to magazine, skills tab, new animals) that were also stated in the mines update blogs.

Personally, I can't wait for the mines update and It's going to be great to have the new areas, quests, and small things, but I also wish those small things like vendor money being shown were already released as it's annoying and it makes the game feel a bit barren without it.

so tiktok brain vs quality documentary brain.

i prefer good slower updates that are tested and fleshed out, compared to fake stuff constantly pushing out that add alone barely anything or even bug your saves.

if anyone wants to see more small updates, join the discord and hope to join the closed beta to test upcoming content.

also not sure how you even imagine that a whole giant area gets added but small content over time.
that would just look barren if the whole area is empty at first and just slowly gets more content.

the updates are around areas in games.

you want just the few quality of life stuff ,which he over time from feedback adds,
or you want the big released areas cut in several pieces, so areas grow with updates.
or you want like the whole mine released early even if barely anything would be added at the time. like most parts without npcs or loot or interactions but accessable?

i get your point in alot of games, but this one updates around whole new areas of maps.

Good news, I've been in the discord for a few days and it turns out the update is coming in 2 weeks or less, all that's left is to iron out any bugs (if there's any left) and to wait, still a pain to wait tho.

Isn't it a meme in the discord, that when someone asks when the update is coming out, everyone always replies with "in 2 week but for real this time"

I think the two main reasons why we're not getting "drip feed updates" is because either
a) pretty much every update would come with serious game breaking issues, incomplete feature, half-baked content and mechanics, out of order story quests and so on, because for them to work, you need the content that comes afterwards, not to mention all the save compatibility issues which on playtest require a new save pretty much with each update

b) or time wasted managing two separate game builds if you want certain features to be added sooner than they are planned, basically having the devs to reimplement things from current build of the game to a much older one, which again could cause many serious issues and save compatibility issues when you move your save from a totally different branch of the game to the current one
i'm pretty happy letting good devs do whatever they think i best, i can wait for updates
your getting big slow updates due to the dev team being about 2-4 ppl

Problem with that is we still end up with plenty of bugs, even with the slower updates.

Me personally i rather want quality updates that are balanced and tested and not rushed just to please Shareholders for the next quarter. lol

Dripfeed releases ain't gonna cut it when the game is very complex and it also puts a lot of stress on the developer team. No no, ONE bigger update every once in a while makes a lot more sense. Even if that means that it takes some time and may also have delays,
