Recover confiscated stolen goods?

Perhaps I've been too coddled by Bethesda games, but is there any way too recover confiscated stolen goods? I had a lot of important items stashed in a stolen backpack, as well as a stolen alarm clock which has been game-changing. Walked out of the farm but forgot to return some seeds (flower seeds aren't sold like crops so stayed in my inventory) and was confronted by a cop, so I paid the fine but of course all stolen goods were gone.

Is there any hope of getting them back or are they gone for good? All my rubber ducks, the golden plate and a bunch of planks were also stashed in that backpack. :(

not sure, but i usually load previous save, every time when get the crime note

To update this, I eventually was able to buy a new backpack from the robot guy, and it still had all my backpack inventory. So that's a win!
