Fifth Gate and where to go next

I'm finding it very difficult to beat the 5th gate in the snowy area. I keep getting wiped out and there are no accessories to stop being silenced or missing a turn. The enemies are very strong and it's now becoming tedious trying to get past them. I managed to get as far as the boss of that gate and was beaten but I think you should allow for us to go straight through rather than having to grind through the various enemy encounters over and over again until we reach the boss once more? I've also run out of money with no means of earning any more? Also there is no way of finding where or what I'm supposed to do next? I've been enjoying the game but it's now starting to become a bit of a chore.

Hi tracy,

what's your Level? On Board #5, fire damage is very useful and should help you beat the common battles fast and earn some EXP.

Have you tried using the Taunt command just in time, i.e. just before the enemy uses a devastating attack? All enemies follow a pattern as far as their actions are concerned.

How are you doing in terms of hidden items in the areas? Have you unlocked as many chests as you could?

As far as money is concerned: You can sell enemy cards and the drops you get from the bats.

Other than that, the game is full of little secrets, so you may have missed something useful along the way. It could be worth revisiting old areas. :)

I've revisited this game as I hadn't played it for a couple of years. I've now completed the 5th Gate but have no idea where to go next although I have scoured each section again. Please can you point me to where I should be going next. Also secret room 2 in the mana maze isn't there? I've tried several times but nothing happens

Hi Tracy! I'm glad you're back. :)

Board #6 is actually right there in plain sight. It's located in Snowbound, but can be reached via the general Everwhite area east of it.

By 'Mana Maze', you probably mean 'Lantern Maze', right? There was, in fact, a secret room in Game Master, but in Game Master Plus, there is none. The games are very different in some regards, so not everything you know from Game Master can be found in Game Master Plus.

I have now made several attempts at Board 6 without success. Once you have fought the boss (and lost) when you play the board again (several times) there is no more mana to be earned. This makes the board impossible to finish as by the time you reach the boss level you have no mana to use and are immediately at a disadvantage. Selling off the cards yields such a small amount that you can't build up enough money to buy potions etc. This means that I am unlikely to finish the game which is really disappointing,

I can see the problem. We'll find a solution. Give me some time to think about the optimal approach here. :) Maybe blue fields should replenish MP even when already activated. Maybe you should just be fully healed before a boss battle. Maybe there should be other means of restoring MP.

That said, there is a certain gear that makes everything a lot easier: Meteo Crusher. Do you have it? You should be able to beat the bosses pretty easily with it.
