Motion Blur - Why is this even a thing?

Since I can't find it in the options: Please let me TURN OFF motion blur. I really do not like it in any game. I dont have motion blur in real life. Why should i have or want it in a game?

open the file Engine.ini

add at the end of the file:
[SystemSettings]
r.MotionBlur.Max=0
r.MotionBlurQuality=0
r.DefaultFeature.MotionBlur=0


save the file, set it to read only. enjoy the teaser without motion blur

Set it to read only, do you mean by that checking the square next to write protection?

I'm not against having the option to toggle motion blur on and off.. Pc is all about option. I just found funny that OP said he doesn't have motion blur in real life.
But hey, I absolutely love motion blur and I think every game looks better with it.. Doesn't give me motion sickness. Nothing does. My brain is way too fast and advance to get motion sickness. Sorry to hear you can't handle it.

Yes this is the point! Motion blur doesn't exist in real life is the game equivalent of believing the earth being flat or that vaccienes cause autism and people who do that are not known to be particularely smart.

btw if you slightly move your head left/right does the whole world get blurry like in the game for you? maybe you should see a doctor.

I comprehend just fine.. Only shocked.
When you move your head left and right your eyes jump focus from one point straight into another and often it blinks while changing.
If you keep your eyes straight and without blink then rotate your head as an experiment, then yes, the whole world gets blurry like the game, smartass.

I can't believe you guys had such narrow observation of the world around you. Everything you move get's blurry on motion. Cars driving by.. people walking by.. everything your eyes are not focusing on gets bully on movement.

You guys must be trolling.

Normally your eyes are very quick to compensate for this. If it's as noticeable (as in the game), maybe, really see a doctor.

Just look at his face! It's like I'm playing Deus Ex or the Matrix or something, and the character's physical body is glitching out because it's just a simulation.

Obviously I'm spinning the camera quite fast while taking this shot, but even during normal gameplay, the fuzzy aura around the character is quite distracting.

And seriously. Why the F are we using dithering in 2019? Or 2022, or when ever the release date of this game is.

It's not a matter of whether it's realistic or not. It's about whether it looks good. Which it doesn't. At all.

Good to know that your vision blurries every time you turn your head to the extent that of...well THAT, but if your way too fast and advanced brain isn´t capable to defragment your vision or if your probably perfect eyes are not able to perceive a movement about 1,5hm/h, well than I am glad that this game is naturally accessible to people with special needs :)
Because on the contrary to the real world, in game motion blur is animated, there is no way that your way too fast and advanced brain is able defragment it more then down to the blurry objects that are animated, there are no details left to perceive...

Why? One the one hand a blurry screen is much closer to a real version of motion blur then what ever you brain tries to build from some pixels that are moving too fast, on the other hand; and that´s probably the real reason; it´s there to feel more dynamic and action based, just like the whole intro. It´s just a cheap trick like a shaky camera and that doesn´t fit Gothic at all, that´s a worse interpretation of "what it takes to be modern" then arcania had
that´s why it is so extreme, that´s way you shine after you use a consumable with that weird soundeffect, and that´s probably way you are killing dudes and hunting snappers right from the beginning (it´s just a teaser so I hope they never planned to keep it that way, but here it´s just to grab peoples attention by cheap tricks,... well but wait they changed diego and made him some kind of too extrovert and to overacting so they probably even meant to keep it that way...)
