Lets see what they will offer to us. At worst, it is an expansion of the teaser.
Yeah, this game is going to be console mainstream garbage. That is the audience, most of them lied through their teeth about being Gothic fans.
People get what the deserve and this low intellect garbage will be right up their alley.
Only the minority who finished the teaser voted on the survey. The archivements indicate that most people rage quitted this teaser before the first battle.
IMO they should hire the returning 2.0 mod team to develop the remake. Honestly, returning 2.0 looks better than this remake graphic wise.

That's exactly it -- the combat is by far the worst thing about the 'game' (the teaser),
everything else (well the combat music is terrible too, lol) is either decent or really good,
but the combat in the game is horrible trash, that alone will keep me from buying it as I'm sure most other people.
Lol I said something along those lines a while back (including my review - see for yourself),
something is really wrong with how people think if they 'pass' (rate 'up') a game but then talk about 'well I didn't like this, I didn't like that, but that's okay cause it's "Early Proto-type"' etc..
I mean don't people understand if they 'accept' something given to them it will be deemed as 'acceptably passable' for and in the final stages of the game?
People rating this up both in steam reviews and the survey are shooting themselves in the foot -
cause if the company doesn't 'understand' and pay attention to all the actual feedback in the forums (which had a lot of 'negative', critical feedback) and instead goes with all the 'positive' surveys and reviews, then the final product will be garbage.
People, if you 'review' something that means you're 'reviewing' it for what it is, not what it 'could' be.
The majority are so taken in by the 'brand name' of Gothic that they don't seem to be realizing to actually look at what's put in front of them,
anyways enough of this post..
According to steamspy, the TEASER is owned by half of million of players. If less than 10% managed to complete the teaser... I an pretty sure that if the survey was send after the first combat, the results would be completely different.
Less than 1/4 of the players got the achievement of killing 5 scavengers. Near 2/3 of the players din't got the basic weapon achievement. So there are a lot of players who din't finished the teaser and din't got the survey link
I honestly have like 1000 hours on all Gothic games on steam + GoG, on GoG, G3 is my second most played game, only for G1 i have like 200 hours(steam + gog) and i could't play this teaser for more than about half of a hour.
The combat is too slow, clunky, UNimmersive and the controlls are awful for mouse & keyboard. Din't answered the survey since i din't got a link and believe that are a lot of people in the same situation.
The motion blur, screen shaking and post processing literally was a pain in the eyes. The cutscenes felt more like a generic consequenceless action game than gothic.

This is awful news. Teaser was terrible and have nothing to do with Gothic. And looking at this survey answers is very painful... oww people what did you all do to Gothic?
I have the impression that people gave positive reviews on Steam and in the survey sayed to continue working on it without looking at the quality of this teaser. They saw Gothic Remake, played for half an hour and were already bought because Gothic Remake.
More people gave this demo a rating of 90+ than 50... How? Teaser was just poor low budget junky mess. How anyone could give it 90 score? "
--------------
---- Both the above posts are completely correct,
something is wrong with the survey when anyone that's actually played the teaser knows there's no way the majority would rate it '90%'.
Thank you for Camp3r for pointing out the statistical twisting going on, or at least 'mis-interpretation'.
I myself, though it had some good points, thought that there were some extremely negative points, and no way I would have rated it 90% etc,
I didn't even know there was a survey, and (sure enough) when I finally found out it was 'closed'.
Something is 'off' about the whole survey thing cause I didn't get any survey 'notice' when I first played it, for about 2 hours,
then when I came back a couple of weeks later and played it to completion, then I get the 'survey' - after it was closed.
All the points the above posters mentioned are bang on - combat is horrible, graphic 'effects' kill the eyes, various other problems.
Honestly I wouldn't be surprised if the survey was 'manipulated' for the sake of building false hype.
At best it was exactly like Camp3r said -- most people played it a bit, and said positive things in the survey simply for the sake of wanting to see another Gothic remake,
they didn't actually stick around long enough to know what the game was about or it's flaws.
I myself 'played' the teaser again the second time for another 3 hours, running around trying to figure out what to do.
Eventually I gave up, looked up a walkthrough, and found out the 2 guys (Segir and the other guy fighting in the forest) were who I was supposed to 'go to' next,
except they weren't there for me. The NPC's were completely bugged out to the point of not actually being in the teaser.
That's a pretty big 'bug', hopefully those 'production standards' don't stay in the full release..
Never mind the broken achievements etc..
I think the most intelligent thing the company can do is have an 'alternate' combat system for pc.
It seems that they might stick with that kind of combat simply to cater to the controller crowd on console (and trust me, I'm all for controllers lol, on any system, but trying to use m+k with that kind of 'For Honor' combat is a nightmare in Gothic..),
so they might keep that combat for the sake of appeasing the console crowd.
Which will infuriate most of the pc people.
I think they need to seriously make two versions, one for consoles with the FH combat, and one for pc's with the typical normal fluid m+k combat (such as in a game like 'Exoplanet' etc).
There were major factors that seem very odd with regard to this. Taking on a Snapper that early in game is really odd. In a truer Gothic experience, you would need to have nigh perfect timing for a good 10 minutes to beat such a foe so early, assuming you could even damage one of them at that point.
The idea has a lot of potential, and giving it a high quality effort with attention to those aspects of feedback that weren't all positives will likely earn you a very hearty applause. Ignoring them will likely earn you a disdain usually reserved for Arcania, or maybe Risen 2.
Do hope you listen all those feedbacks about oveertalkative protagonist, combat, word being opened vs corridored, lightning and graphics effect and so on though.
Why would we remove Gothic 1/2 from stores ? they are still great games.
//Zyddie
Blizzard removed WC3 original. Beamdog removed NWN:Gold from GoG.
Is only fear.
