Alright So...
Alright so after putting 20 hours and almost getting every achievement too I decided to drop in some things not only to suggest as tips but also to help the devs get feedback as it may help them understand a players POV and so on, The game is fun I enjoy it but I in no way hold any bias towards the genre or developer in question at all I just bought the game as a casual way to lose some stress as I am a professional gamer for a game called World Of Tanks on Xbox and I use Steam as a getaway from it. ^^

- Alright so first thing that annoyed me and it needs fixed ASAP it's annoying, There is a couple of bugs with the employees, Sometimes they don't even show up for work lol even though I am paying them more than the intended advised salary, Also after playing the game for a little while, Your employee will just decide to stop stocking a certain shelf , table or cupboard for whatever reason. These are a tad bit annoying especially as the store grows even bigger as it does take time to run all around replacing them and the queues can get decently big as well making it hard to track your sales.

- A ledger, I don't know why your game doesn't haven;t one but I have worked in a few stores before mainly Tesco and Bells which you have no idea what they are probably but in any case every store I've ever seen has a ledger, A book that allows you to track sales of goods over a certain period of time so you can evaluate trend, demand and needs of communities. This is how you make people happy while wasting less money and increasing profit margins in the real world, I would like to see this happen in the game or any future games you may make, Ledgers are fun little books you can do a lot with and information is fun too for some :3

- Crafting is painfully slow at daytime, If a player chooses to craft during the day in the hopes that they may lose a trade or sale etc that's the players fault, Time shouldn't slow down when crafting during open hours :3

- Storage a lot of your storage takes up huge amounts of cash, space and so on especially if I was only looking for 1 or 2 specific spaces extra read on to find out why I would but yeah, I would like to see small more umm compact storage methods that you would find in a store or even in a home, Like a chest of drawers with some space that takes up a very small space, A very small shelf or something, A very cheap storage method

- You know the commission board thing, good luck lol XD as your store grows bigger this becomes impossible to do as the guy that comes to collect the commission will eventually just keep getting stuck, The only way I can fix it so far is reloading the game after the day is done but you end up losing the commission all together and the time gets locked on the commission board still, Not that it matters because when you recommission he will just get stuck again anyway. Here's a tip, He has a lot of trouble walking through doors except the front door, Try to keep your commission board away or through any kind of door that is not the front door of the store.

- I think consumers should have more of a needs thing on them they seem to just buy stuff randomly, I would like to see for example people placing an order on you for a specific item like let's say you specialise in food and old Elizabeth wants a pie but she doesn't want just any pie she wants a legendary Pie and is willing to pay extra, I would like to see this added as it would put more fun on crafting and stocking, Or perhaps somebody else is collecting green Hp potion bottles and wants an order of 10 of them who knows

Here are some general tips of my experience to help you save profit or time

- You can use control to activate grid placement when placing items (You guys needs to put this in the tutorial that's really handy to know).

- Don't over stock a huge amount, This tip doesn't really matter on easy or normal but if you're going for the very hard achievement try not to over stock at all, What I usually do is I would have a 3 slot cupboard specifically for say Hp potions only and stock it with 3, I usually then keep 3 more Hp potions in the back to restock that shelf, I never stock more because you still have to sell it, The hard part isn't getting the item or storing it but rather selling them as the consumers seem to just be very random in what they want unless controlled by an event.

- Need extra appeal? Pictures are great way to eek out more appeal as pictures can fit in the tightest spots of low space on the wall even when there is sometimes a huge item blocking it. Although what I did for huge amounts appeal I just made an appeal room and sold food out of it

- You don't really need space or employees you could always sell items the old fashion way by having only one table because it's required and instead of displaying anything you sell it when they ask for it lol the downside to this is though they don't seem to buy anymore than 1 item at a time so you could be losing tons of profit

- Employees will always look to stock the same item of the same rarity despite profits on the item you have unless they can't find it, My advice to this don't stock items of any kind untill they have all sold again, Because you could end up in a situation where you bought 5 legendary potions with a profit of say 10 each but they may never ever see the shelf or ever get sold when cheaper normal potions are still available so make sure you sell what you stocked first before restocking that item again, It's okay not to meet everyone's desires you are here to make profits not be perfect. After all I am sure you have went to a store before and they never had what you wanted in life is life ^^

Have a lovely day that's all I have for you at this moment this post was just a bit of fun for me to write as I am currently just drinking and having a chill night and about to go for the very hard achievement again so I hope that it helps :3

If you wish to discuss anything about the game you can add me directly on steam if you wish provided we stay on topic really, I have insane anxiety so I will unlikely be reading or replying to anything on this post I apologise for that as it quite an ignorant thing to do but it's out of my control really :3

Some echo thoughts of my own.

Storage takes up to much space. A third option is needed or even an upgrade option to allow more storage to be stored.

The game itself is just too grindy. I am on normal and without the use of guides or anything became a Jack of all Trades. Much harder than specializing, and that's fine. But when looking to buy more land just to put up one extra shelf for anything, while also fighting with the debt it's just a slog. I went from enjoying my time with the game to now feeling like its a chore because I'd like to get the achievements. Mass buying resources to stare at the craft table as the tick bar crawls on its belly over gravel to get to level 10.

The placing of items should be like build view. The small circle of dropping things down is more restrictive and annoying compared to just being able to set things down. Especially when your shelves are bigger than the circle of your drop locations.

I like the game and will do it again on very hard. But goodness as a completionist the achievement to reach level 10 is not a challenge but a practice of patience with tedium.

Welcome to the game and the community! It's a fantastic game to turn on and chill with, if you don't have unrealistic expectations.

Bugs are annoying lol. No disagreements here.

The ledger in the stores you worked at were created because the real world has an economy dictated by the laws of real-world economics, resource distribution, consumer needs, etc. The economy in this video game is 100% RNG. A ledger would not be any benefit in this game lol, but you can certainly make one (as the owners of the stores you worked at almost certainly did :P )

This is 100% intended behavior. Look at your stock throughout the day to avoid this; if your shelves are completely devoid of a certain item, there's a pretty good chance someone will come to the desk and ask for it lol.

Also intended. The game is not difficult, the only thing that slows progression is space. If you reduce the cost of space (storage, or otherwise), you make the game easier. Also, the storage shelves in this game are the same size as the display shelves, but hold much more product. Not sure what the problem is at all lol.

I've never had an issue, but I've also kept it close to the front of the store; it makes more sense to stage a big order for someone at an easy-to-get-to place lol.

Intended behavior; it's not an economics simulator, it's an extremely simple, pickup & play shop sim. Specifically about the quality recommendation, that's actually EXACTLY what the notice board is lol...

I'll hammer these out quick:
-The controls are explained in the settings
-Overstocking, by definition, is unnecessary; stock what you think you'll sell lol
-Wall decorations (and rugs, anything that doesn't occupy floor tiles), while easy to place, cost more per point of appeal than those other decoration items. So yes, but there's a caveat.
-Yeah, you need space lol. Employees, no, but yeah you miss potential sales by not displaying merchandise.
-Employees stocking the same item/rarity is the intended effect. You can change it by stocking the highest quality item/lowest quality item.

Thank you for playing and sharing your experience!

Just a couple of thoughts on some of the feedback:

- A ledger is definitely something that we think would be a great addition to the game. A place where you can get insights in sales history and an overview of income/expenses.

- Crafting is sped up during the night to let you prepare for a new day of customers. During the day, crafting takes the intended amount of time to try and get clutch sales from customers that would otherwise walk away unsatisfied. Initially the game was not slowed down while crafting but that nearly always resulted in missing sales and generally felt bad.

- Late-game you can buy the storage basement which is an upgradeable piece of storage. The purpose of this piece is to reclaim store space at a premium. When progressing through Winkeltje it is important to balance floor space with storage capacity but nearing end-game this mechanic not that interesting to balance anymore.

Despite these issues I hope you still had a good time playing. :)
