Please give us the Japan-Exclusive expansion and sequel!
I loved LoLS but stopped playing as soon as I found out that english speakers only got the inferior product and never got the sequel.
So yeah... please give us the Japan only "Wizardry: Perfect Pack" or better, the "Wizardry: Twin Pack".
I don't like playing an inferior product, when I know, that a much better product exist but for a different audience.
And that wouldn't be the first game I dropped cause of this, cause "Elminage Gothic" is guilty of the same thing... and another game I don't know the name of right now.
But Steam always get's just the basic stuff and not the "much better Vita version" or the "Japan only extra stuff".

I second this. It would be really good to have the "Perfect Pack" available on Steam.
I know that would requiere extra effort since the expansion and the sequel need to be translated first. But I think fans would be more supportive knowing they are getting a complete package instead of just a fraction.

I wouldn't mind if they were Japanese only. I'd just like a legit way to get them.
ShinyFuji 2019 年 12 月 27 日 上午 9:39
I don't understand in this series and just want a game with plot.
So, as I understand there a DLC and sequel, then in LoLS no normal end?
Should I delete it from my wishlist?

Hm. I think the old Wizardrys are rather not being played because of their silly plot. And actually I don't think it's much better with this one ...

I think old Wizardry games aren't being played because they aren't readily available. The best versions of Wizardry 1-5 were released only in Japan on the original PlayStation. The most easily available versions in the West are the old NES games which are, to be honest, not that great a release compared to what the Japanese have. We need proper HD versions of Wizardry 1-5 released in the West.

Not sure how true it is but according to the latest announcement video all DLC will be included in this release.

I guess, there are some legal troubles with Andrew Greenberg, that's also the reason why we probably won't see original spell names in this one.

I really don't think Andy has much say in Wizardry at this point. Both Greenberg and Woodhead sold all of the rights to Wizardry to SirTech ages ago.
When Sirtech hit legal troubles, their entire catalog was liquidated. All rights to the early Wizardry games (Wiz 1-5) are now owned solely by Gamepot, a Japanese developer - the company responsible for the current Wizardry series in Japan.

As far as the legacy spell names go, they were dropped from the series with the release of Wizardry 6. And this was done strictly for creative reasons. It just seemed to make more sense at the time to have spells with descriptive names like "Fireball" instead of the cryptic "Mahalito".
(Personally, I like the silly Welsh-like names, but it is what it is).

At this point, the best thing we can do is vote with our wallets. If we want to see more JP exclusive Wizardry titles in the US, we need to give them a reason to bring them over. So far, we've got our hands on this game, Tales of the Forsaken Land, Wizardry Online, and WizRogue.
None of which have really made much money for the devs. It's a sad truth, but again, it is what it is.

Not exactly. WizRogue had original spell names on its release on Steam: "Lomilwa", "Mahalito", "Tiltowait" etc. However, they were renamed a few days later, because of "licensing issues".
Japanese version has them as well (written in katakana).
However, Japanese version of Labyrinth of Lost Souls seems to have new spell names (written in English).

i would disagree that the SNES is inferior to the PS versions. i have TRIED to play the PS1 (i actually JUST DID because i am playing 5 again leading up to this). i always come back to the SNES. for instance i could not strafe in the PS version, also the trap disarm did not auto-select the correct trap. People keep saying the PS is best, i disagree.
rwood42 2020 年 1 月 10 日 下午 2:59
Oh and this is in addition to autosaves vs playstation manual saves take an hour and a half.

Of Japanese remakes only three were released officially outside of Japan: first two for NES and Wizardry V for SNES.
I like the SNES versions more too, but in fact PS version is more true to original.

so nes vs snes. lets face it 1-2-3 on snes is in English, it was just not released here. It is trivial to get and is 100% English unlike the PS versions people are so hot for.
