No saints row 1 for PC?

Was saints row 1 not released on PC? I have been looking all over and it appears that it didn't come out, I'm guessing it was an xbox exclusive when it first came out and that is why.

Sounds like you know the answer to your own question. It was an Xbox exclusive. This one (2) is the first to be on PC which is part of why it's such a poor port.

If SR1 ever is ported to PC (only a percentile likely), expect it to be butchered, just like the GTA mobile ports. Songs removed, game dumbed down, more glitches, you know the drill.

It would end up like SR II. II uses I's engine, which is made for X360 (but was refined for PS3.) The engine isn't very stable on PC. Which is why SRII for PC was lack-luster.

Because PS3 wasn't out yet and PC was an afterthought at the time... things have changed since then but it makes little sense to port it at this point since the demand is very low.

They will probably never port it, but progress is being made on the 360 emulator for PC. Once that is done, every 360 exclusive will no longer be exclusive. Just like how every Wii, Gamecube, DSi, PS2, and pretty much everything else that came before that is no longer 'exclusive.'

It will be years more before an emulator is finished, but it will be done.

I'd like to see SR1 out on PC however they would have to build it form ground up or it will be a crap port... look what happed to SR2 bugs and performance issuses I don't think anyone wants that.

Would be pretty sweet to be able to play the original game on PC though. I haven't played it since I don't have an xbox and I don't know the story that well.

Don't hold your breath on any Saints Row 1 & 2 re-releases.

The closest we might get is a remake in the style of the current games.

the only way that saints row 1 will be on pc is if they make a remastered or definitive edition. Saints row is basically done, they are moving on to agents of mayhem. So a re-release may be in the cards in a couple years (maybe sooner, maybe longer)

it's listed in a .pdf in relation to the the recent VA strike ( https://www.sagaftra.org/files/non-struck_video_game_productions.pdf ) but I still say there's no way in ♥♥♥♥ it's ever going to see the light of day on PC or current gen consoles, due to the music licensing, and ofc the nightmare that is the streaming system (their insanely messy Pre-Computed Visibility system - nuff said)
either wait until it's playable on xenia, or go buy a 360 (a RGH/jtag one for the best experience, load up freestyle dash on it and take screenshots, mod the ♥♥♥♥ out of the game and everything)
