Saints Row 2

Saints Row 2

We need achievements for SR2 and we need SR1 on Steam
I've got SR3, SR3R, and SRGoH 100%. Want to do it for all the Saints Rows, but it's hard to do when there's no achievements, and no SR1.

Not to mention the first two are the most fun/immersive. Will either of these ever happen?

1. This developer no longer exists, they were shut down; you're never getting any official updates to SR2

2. SR1 during development was only ever created for console; the developer never kept a source copy as they fully converted it to SR2 during development with no way to make SR1 for PC without building it again from scratch ~ and since they don't exist, that isn't happening either

For any of what you're requesting to happen some other company would need to buy the defunct IP and build new games based on them.

And considering how terrible the reboot Saints Row (2022) was, there's no company interested in this dead IP right now. The reboot killed both the franchise and put the developer out of business.

Didn't realize they were out of business until now, dang. Never played the reboot, but bought it on-sale recently and just installed yesterday, plan on trying it out.
Really think the world getting blown up in SRIV screwed the series up. Wondered why they made that choice back then, and I still wonder now.

It's a common danger in escalation story telling. Each entry needs to be crazier than the last and before you know it you've blown up the world or your main character is a god and creatively you've backed yourself into a corner. Gat out of Hell was the Hail Mary throw to salvage the narrative but they forgot the staple of SR was that you played your own character. That was my first clue that the reboot would be trash too, they expected you to play their goofballs instead of making your own goofball to play.

All in all, it was a great series but it stayed a little too long after it was done, like a 70's rock band. SR4 is the official end for me. Road traveled, fond memories, tear in my eye as I watch through the rear-view mirror.

Regarding Achievements, most of single player mode achievements from Xbox360 version can be tracked locally by SuperUI[www.saintsrowmods.com] mod. But as I said, this is completely local. It's offline and won't become visible to your Steam profile.

Uninstall and refund :P Not worth it. Should have got it for free on Epic when it was given away if you really wanted to try this trash.

Nah, killing Gat off in SR3 was what did. Hell, I would even go as far to contend that SR2 never needed any sequels to begin with, but with THQ IIRC having money issues even back then, is it really surprising? Can't just let a good thing come and go, you gotta milk it for all its worth.

given the reboot didn't meet expectations the chances of a franchise return and remake of what i'll consider the original trilogy of saints row 1,2 & 3 is but a dream. because there's a few what if options here in my opinion and that is

1) said company that now owns the rights go back taking previous concept art & rework it to a re-creative version of saints row 1 & 2 & 3 with new textures etc similar to how games such as metal gear, crash or spyro & Toys 4 bob has done

or

2) which they sorta already done btw and that is completely wipe the universe and new game new entry like how ubisoft is doing with prince of persia not even going to bring back the original classic sands of time just completely new. same with saints row under new owners

or 3) screw it all burn it all down and declare the franchise as dead rights end up stashed away somewhere in an estate and 15-20yrs from now after a long rabbit hole of who owns the rights may revive it and surprise fans going wow said franchise i thought was dead for over 20yrs has made a comeback. only to have people go like the king himself duke nukem have people go ♥♥♥♥ that wasn't worth the wait after all those years.

i.m.o saints row is just a modern day duke nukem horror story situation of a dedicated few wanting to give the franchise a proper send off only to have there efforts go to waste
It is possible to play Saints Row 1 on windows via Xenia, ive been playing for awhile and after a few changes of a text file it works fine with no crashes. No achievements though..
