2. SR1 during development was only ever created for console; the developer never kept a source copy as they fully converted it to SR2 during development with no way to make SR1 for PC without building it again from scratch ~ and since they don't exist, that isn't happening either
For any of what you're requesting to happen some other company would need to buy the defunct IP and build new games based on them.
And considering how terrible the reboot Saints Row (2022) was, there's no company interested in this dead IP right now. The reboot killed both the franchise and put the developer out of business.
Really think the world getting blown up in SRIV screwed the series up. Wondered why they made that choice back then, and I still wonder now.
All in all, it was a great series but it stayed a little too long after it was done, like a 70's rock band. SR4 is the official end for me. Road traveled, fond memories, tear in my eye as I watch through the rear-view mirror.
Nah, killing Gat off in SR3 was what did. Hell, I would even go as far to contend that SR2 never needed any sequels to begin with, but with THQ IIRC having money issues even back then, is it really surprising? Can't just let a good thing come and go, you gotta milk it for all its worth.
1) said company that now owns the rights go back taking previous concept art & rework it to a re-creative version of saints row 1 & 2 & 3 with new textures etc similar to how games such as metal gear, crash or spyro & Toys 4 bob has done
or
2) which they sorta already done btw and that is completely wipe the universe and new game new entry like how ubisoft is doing with prince of persia not even going to bring back the original classic sands of time just completely new. same with saints row under new owners
or 3) screw it all burn it all down and declare the franchise as dead rights end up stashed away somewhere in an estate and 15-20yrs from now after a long rabbit hole of who owns the rights may revive it and surprise fans going wow said franchise i thought was dead for over 20yrs has made a comeback. only to have people go like the king himself duke nukem have people go ♥♥♥♥ that wasn't worth the wait after all those years.
i.m.o saints row is just a modern day duke nukem horror story situation of a dedicated few wanting to give the franchise a proper send off only to have there efforts go to waste
