Saints Row 2

Saints Row: The Third clears Saints Row 2
SRTT is the best SR game. People who like GTA games sure will like SR2 but SRTT was the perfect blend of silly and serious. I despise SRIV btw, it's too ridiculous. It's akin to saying you prefer Black Ops to Modern Warfare. Just let the third game enjoyers chill and we'll let you chill on your old San Andreas copy

No. the 4th one is the best one.:steammocking:

SR 4 is the best super hero open world game.

This one is not a Saints Row game, but Prototype 3 modded :p

SRTT is garbage. Zero replay value, less features, ♥♥♥♥♥♥ story, annoying unfunny dialogue, customization is ass, etc.

Don't forget how they literally brought over Jane Valderrama to Steelport - oh, and every single one of Stilwater's radio stations too. Could Volition try any harder to show it was just a cash grab? Shades of ITV Digital trying to get out of paying the Football League, but in the end, everyone pays the piper.

For me it depends.
SR2 had the best open world out of all the SR games combined.
SR3 seemed like it improved but it removed alot of features from SR2 (going into buildings, having different nps in different places, etc). Plus the world of SR3 was too bland for me imo. SR3 is still enjoyable but I would take SR2 anyday over it.
SR4 believe it or not I actually liked the gameplay alot. I won't lie having powers and changing the style of guns was really fun. I wish it wasn't part of the Saints Row universe though. But the story had alot of 4th wall breakings and I do love the VAs they used.

So yeah I like SR2 and SR4 in their own way.

As someone who played backwards from 4 to 3 to 2 to 1....nah. 3 and 4 are actual ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ honesty.

2 was the pinnacle of Saint's Row, 3 felt like it a rush job that sort of feels like Saint's Row but with a lot of heart removed and replaced with silly stuff. Don't get me wrong, 3 was still fun to play but not as good overall as 2.

4 shouldn't even be called a Saint's Row game considering how far removed it is from the first 3.

So let's play Crackdown:)
In all seriousness, I'm likely just that one person who likes 2, 3, and 4 all equally. Like yeah, I do agree that the tonal shift did ruin it for a lot of people but the games all have their charm I feel and shine in their own right depending on what you want to play.

The one that I will say sucks across the board is the Reboot for a number of reasons.

SRTT is ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ garbage. As others have pointed out, they turned the boss into a ♥♥♥♥♥. Pierce and Shaundi constantly rip on you. The saints died when they got turned into a group of friends instead of a gang.
Saints Row TT should've been a spin off, not a sequel. As a standalone game, it's okay but as a sequel, like others said, it's a huge downgrade and not even in the spirit of SR2. Some things I remember sucking right off the bat:

1. Completely changing Shaundi's personality and appearance. She was a stoner airhead in SR2 but a Jersey Shore mafia wife always talking about kicking ass and wanting revenge for Gat. Did they even really hang together in SR2?

2. Steelport is garbage compared to Stilwater. Stilwater is, to date, the best open world of any open world game. There was so much attention to detail, tons of interiors to explore and Easter eggs all over the place. The residents looked and acted differently depending on what district you were in. Steelport was just one huge backdrop with the same 15 NPCs.

3. Gameplay was fun but also incredibly shallow, and the storyline meh.

4. The new characters were terrible, especially the nerdy side characters, Kenzie and Matt(?).

5. Radio station sucked. The radio was so great in SR2 that I used to just play the game so I could cruise around listening to it. I can't remember any of the stations in SRTT other than that Hulk Hogan was a host of some lame show.

6. Humor and everything else felt like a very lame network TV show. I always thought they were aiming for the Adult Swim crowd.

It was all over when Gat got killed off screen by some rando. After surviving the events of the first two games, he suddenly gets killed off like he's just some rando himself? FOH.

They were aiming for the Reddit crowd with the "humor," and God, I hear you on the radio stations. It's funny how Steelport somehow had every single radio station from Stilwater AND Jane Valderama, too. Almost like SR3 was just a ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ cash grab or something, what with THQ going down the drain. I find it hard to believe that they went through the trouble of making an entire new setting just to import everything from Stilwater. You can't remember any station from SRTT because they're all literally imports from SR2 lmao.

And the music choices were certainly bland, too. SR2's wasn't perfect IMHO, but like you, I used to just cruise around every now and then. SRTT? I can't remember a single song other than Kanye's Power.

Oh, and that insufferably lame, "cringe" even, Adult Swim station.

Anyone who says the reboot sucks but praises 3 and/or 4 is a hypocrite IMHO. It's all equally bad after SR2.

SR2 never needed a sequel, and I'll die on that hill. Should've just put SR1 on PC or something instead.
They are different games, it's a series hijack. Imagine if SR3 was the next GTA, or some other game. People would say it is bad. But not because it is bad, but because it's not a authentic sequel, a series hijack. The fact of the matter is that Saints Row The Third and IV ARE bad Saints Row games, IF you define Saints Row as 2. But, the reality is that 3 and 4 are not bad games, if fact it is my opinion that they are great games, exceptional games in fact, better than 2. But there is no point having this discussion, it's a series hijack.
