Saints Row 2

Saints Row 2

Please don't throw away IdolNinja's legacy
The man (idolninja) deserves better. I don't know how many of you were there in the days before he came to work at volition, but he was very adamant on fixing saints row 2 via mods, and the man loved the game and poured his heart and soul into fixing it. He added extra content via his mods, fixed issues, he was so into his work that it got him an eyeball from volition.

The man got cancer and decided to keep going with the game until the end forced him to stop. Imagine being in agonizing, crippling pain from face cancer and the guy did what he could when he could to keep things moving along and going.

I wish at the very least someone would step forward and give us an update. I get it. I do. Companies exist to make money, they don't work for free and if they do it's not a high priority. But please. I and I've no doubt many others have played SR2 off and on for years, I played last back in 2012 but I've kept up with whatever information I could on IdolNinja's works, until I heard that they had (essentially) greenlit a patch for the game.

This ended up, at least from public word, turning into essentially a "remaster" of the game, with all the things they could fix and whatever licensing they could keep for music and such and would be given to owners of SR2.

This was a man who managed to get a hell of a lot of ambition and in doing so had potentially set up for a fantastic gem of a game all polished up nicely from the unfortunate state it was forced to be left in.

I know people like him aren't some messiah or even necessarily rare. I know everyone is asking the same stuff I am, but I had so much hope for this man's ambitions work out.

Thank you volition for making SR2, it's one of my very favorite games and thanks to the addition that IdolNinja's mods provided, it has given me absolutely in-tears coughing and a beet-red face from laughing at just how great this game is. I've had the screenshots I have as my profile showcase since those days back in 2012. I've replayed it on other mediums, and I would have replayed it yet again by now except that I've been waiting for the "fixed" version.

All this said, please.. Just at least give the straight news from the source. Is SR2's "remaster" to be buried along with IdolNinja? Even if so, thanks for some of the truest and best laughs I've had and may he continue to rest in peace.

Agreed with subj... Idol Ninja told about his SR2 roadmap in public, he has a high Hopes his project will be finished after his death.
He did a lot to just Entertain us, folks, not out of self-interest ... a talented mod creator who became a true Legend.
Give to oblivion his last wish - Is wrong on so many levels. We are, simple players, will always remember him as a man of great heart and talent, with his project or without it.
Mike Watson did all what has in his might...
Ignoring his legacy is an Unbeliveabable Shame.
Mentioning his name in a frankly bad and unsuccessful, failed game of 2022 - did not do Honor to anyone.
Do the right thing, show you can, don't ruin a Worthy Person's work, give a Life the last Idol Ninja's project.
