I got a question for the makers.
Will you guys ever fix the PC port? :O

I'm not one of the makers, but I do know the answer: No!
It would be a ton of work to redo SR2, with a lot of actual recoding of th eengine required. The only way that they would fix the pc version would be by an HD-re-release type thing.

The problem is that we didn't do the port. It was outsourced to another company by THQ at the time and we had very little involvement with it. We don't even have a copy of the source code (which we've been trying to track down to help the modding community with.)

I am positively surprised to see an "offiicial" chiming in here :D

my question as follows:
what's the name of the company that did the port back then?
does it even still exist?
can the game somehow be resubmitted to the German Software ratings board?
or maybe just re-released as an unrated edition?

gracias...

Considering that I'm the Community Manager for Volition, isn't that "official" enough?

CD Projekt Black did the PC port of Saints Row 2 for THQ. This is not the team that created The Witcher, which was CD Projekt Red.

I'm not sure if CD Projekt Black still exists, but they have not responded to our queries. Volition had very little involvement with the SR2 PC port, and that was mostly handled by THQ.

There are no current plans to resubmit or update Saints Row 2 in any official capacity.

EDIT:
Corrected post with the right CD Projekts.

ah, thanks for that information... that's more than "official" enough... well it could only be any more "official" if one of the original port coders (is that even a job title...? never mind... ;D) would chime in here... :D

CD Projekt Red? isn't that the team behind GoG.com? because as far as I know it's CDPR (as in Red...) never actually heard of Black...

details, victimless details.... thank you for your prompt reply...

too bad, German censoring laws can be a pain in the arse at times... granted it has got a lot better in recent years, but still...

again thank you...

P.S. anything on Gat out of Hell or SRV you are allowed to speak about (as in, is the Boss striclty male in GooH?) and when will SRV be announced...

just kidding on that last bit... Saints Row is among my favourite gaming franchises...

Sorry, you're right. I got the the CD Projekts mixed up. It definitely was CD Projekt Black that did the port and NOT Red. I confirmed that with one of the producers I share an office with.

If you have a save on the same platform, then you will be able to import your boss into Gat out of Hell and he/she will be in the cutscenes. You play as either Gat or Kinzie. More info:
