Anyway to remove cheats from save file
I lost a bunch of progress because the game didn't auto save when I left. So my dumb brain thought it would be a good Idea to use cheats so I could get there faster. I had no Idea the effect of cheats was permanent even when I deactivated them, and now the game doesnt auto save and my last save file I can go back to Is hours of progress behind. So is there a way to mess with the files or a mod I can use to help this.

You say that as if there's a difference

All cheats are mods

Some of the cheats are built into the game, and they disable saving.

Update: I tried it on a new save and it works, although the title of the save will continue to have the asterisk. Once you load into the game, save again and it'll create a save without the cheats-enabled indicator. You can edit the file online on https://hexed.it

You just gotta edit 2E2 from 01 to 00. Here's a link to what it looks like before and after https://imgur.com/a/oCJjJQV

Then click export and replace your save with the downloaded file. Note that because of Steam cloud saving, you have to replace the file when your game is already running. Otherwise, Steam will just redownload the original file from the cloud when you launch the game.

So, while the game is running, replace the file and then load the save. When it loads, create a new save. The title of the new save shouldn't have the "*".

P.S. Make sure you keep a copy of the original save in case something messes up.

I cant replace it because google keeps saying Hexed cant open the file because it contains system files.
