There's also SweetFX, which is a program that runs in the background and gives a sort of "overlay" to the game that changes things like brightness, color balance, etc., sort of like ENB presets for other games. You can make your own or find other people's setups online and download them from the SweetFX website.
There's also saintsrowmods.com, where you can find a ton of user-created mods for all of the games in the series, including 2.
For some people. I can't say for sure without knowing exactly what's causing your game to crash. Too many variables there for a clear answer, but it definitely fixes pretty much all of the more common glitches.
If it crashes for you again after installing GotR you can comment on my profile and I'll try to help you fix it. I've been pretty successful with helping people out in the past, but I can't make any guarantees.
Besides that there is a HD-Mod, that makes teh game lokk much better. It was a quite big one (>1GB). As mentioned above, you can find it on saintsrowmods.
