Some missions are harder to do yes. However, they are not impossible. Sometimes it requires you do some activities and diversions first. Things like hitman, chopshop, mayhem, heli assault, fightclub, etc. But also things like earning gold rank with drive-by, do nutshots, headshots, beat down, slice 'n dice (requires katana, you can get one by beating a ronin) and that kind of things. You can find it back at the menu.
Here's a list of all the unlockables:

Rubbish. It plays fine with keyboard and mouse. And on the pc you're supposed to play with keyboard for most games, with the exception of sportgames, racegames and beat em ups.
I play SR2 myself with keyboard and mouse. No problems there.
Not only that, but 2 has also more possibilities, which are capped in 3. In 2 you can change the interior of your cribs. The only exception is the saints hq, but that one changes automatically depending how many neighbourhoods you control. In the third you can't change the interior of your crib. You can change the exterior a bit of the 3 strongholds (safeword, burns hill, 3 count) and that's it. The cribs you have, such as the apartment of shaundi's ex, can't be changed at all. And unlike SR2 the saints hq doesn't change this time. An other thing is that you can destroy everything in SR2 and can use traffic signs or chairs as weapons. Not possible in 3. And in 2 the gangs are streetgangs, each with it's own tag. In the third the only streetgang are the saints, though they now have a new role. Also, the activities and diversions are changed and they are capped as well. And Steelport is not Stilwater. I have the feeling Steelport is made a bit in a rush, seeing parts of the city having the name of the villains, like Loren Square (named after Philippe Loren) and Port Pryor (named after Eddie Pryor, which is the real name of Killbane)
Stilwater have no neighbourhoods named after a person. Everything there feels more like an actual city and it also lives more. Citizens do have their own schedule and sometimes you see fightings. There are even pimps on the street.
Thing is, I think in terms of the gangs, they kind had to start changing up the gameplay a bit. 1 and 2 were mostly typical gang-based gameplay, however that gets old after a while. I think it is quite cool that they progressed the Saints to fighting against an entire syndicate instead of some random gangs again, however I do agree that a lot of things they threw away which were good. Steelport is also small compared to Stilwater, and I really didn't like the thing that they took away rewards from being won by doing activities and diversions, that actually made them worth working towards. Now you can literally just earn your stuff by levelling up and buying perks. And some of the perks are utter ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ as well, like no damage from bullets. I mean honestly once you get all the no damage perks, WTF is even the point of playing anymore? One thing I really wish they would do is expand the different types of guns you can use, instead of just having 2-3 options for each weapon type. What would also be cool is if they created like a skill tree system whereby you could upgrade a certain weapon down certain pathways, to allow for more dynamic customization of weapon upgrades. So for instance at the level 3 upgrade, have 2 upgrade options where you can only choose 1, and at level 4 again.
The game was fun though despite horrible performance issues, crashes etc.
P.S. I used KB+M. I think this might be hard when using controller. So try KB M instead.
Boss fights are not hard no. But some missions are harder to do if you don't have done activities and diversions yet, like reunion tour (second brotherhood mission)
Dunno if I'm replying too late, but you have to download some special tools to slow down the game's speed. Google saints row speed tools and you gonna find it.
now the unfair things in this game that make it hard are the physics and ridiculous random difficulty spikes. enemies spawning a few metres away. cars flying for no reason. character getting bumped in a wall for walking on a piece of cardboard like it's hulk. some bosses having frame skips, fake/unprecise patterns and cheap nonsense mechanics. i played most of the game in hardcore difficulty and had to lower it down to normal or casual at times just to realize some missions were still nearly as impossible as hardcore because it was badly tested and the game will just throw more and more enemies spawning in front of my character faster than they get one shotted. at times my character would just go from full health to dead instantly and it was basically unavoidable
