-Alternate resouce gathering mechanics (Order gets Taxation upgrade that makes farms produce very small amount of gold per minute; Chaos gets Pillage upgrade; neutral Market building that allows selling and buying Wood).
-New Heroes based on new Attributs (Zeal for Templar/Warlock; Mechanics for Saboteur/Engineer; Focus for Druid/Conqueror).
Here are a few.
Interactive items could be a bit more noticeable. Some items laying around are only really noticeable if you're looking for them. Objects such as the wardrobe seem to have no visible indication that they can be interacted with. A small, bright outline would get the point across.
Attacks do not all deal damage when the impact sounds play, and instead a little afterwards, supposedly at the end of the animation.
An audible notification when the character does not have enough energy to use an ability would be welcome. Update: It would also be nice if the icon were greyed out when the character does not have sufficient resources to use/cast something.
Attacks can not be avoided by moving away. I'm not really sure if they should be able to or not, but it does look a little unnatural. I know some games have a threshold distance that a target unit can move before the attacks are cancelled. Ultimately I'd leave it up to your call.
Update: Defeat happens super abruptly. I'd suggest giving the player a message about a failed objective (e.g. hero dies), give them a couple seconds, then defeat.
Order queue flags are a bit large. It would be nice to see them use a sprite maybe 1/2 as large and draw some lines indicating the order of the queue.
two more factions, maybe? )
I disagree on the "two more factions" bit. Two or Three factions is the golden rule for balance, games with more tend to be very messy with it. Warcraft 3, for example, is completely unbalanced, and anyone that plays that game at any level well tell you so.
Dragonborns would be a awesome unit for the metallic faction like a basic swordsmen unit or how about attack drakes for the chromatic faction like the cult of the dragon vs the dragons of order
chromatic units
unit 1 infantry attack drakes good in large numbers and can kill enemy infantry with ease also have lots of armor and can destroy building with there acid breath ability cost 215 gold
unit 2 Kobold crossbow men very weak but are good for over whelming the enemy units they come in twos when you train them at the barrack also there are cheap to train they cost 150 gold
unit 3 drake rider with half dragon rider heavy cavalry unit they are made to do lots of damage to enemy buildings and defensive buildings and can run over infantry with the ram ability
Also new tile-sets would be very nice in the future, Maybe a poison swamp, magic forest, tropic islands...
Keep it up!
This projekt is fantastic! :)
i vote for Swamp, Magic Forest, and Wasteland.
This ^
Im voting for naval units, too. Just the one thing missing in loria compared to wc2.
