Still can't get game to launch
I downloaded and installed legacy PhysX, and also tried copying binaries into the game folder, still won't launch. Any ideas?

What OS are you using? What exactly is it doing? Have you tried running it in compatibility mode?

This is an old game, keep that in mind.

I got this game working.
Search your game folders (Steam common e.g.) for the PhysXLoader.dll and copy this file into the BIN folder.
It seems to work for many games with PhysX-Problems.
I got the PhysXLoader.dll from SpecOps The Line and got Risen and this game working

Maybe try setting the game exe to Compatability mode for Windows XP, Disable fullscreen optimizations, and High DPI scaling controlled by: Application.

I am just not sure why some people have issues with this game, it was why I created that tutorial, but I have just not been able to replicate issues others have installing or playing FFoW. I just got a new dedicated PC for my gaming as my laptop is starting to die.

It came with Windows 11 Home installed, so I thought here is a GREAT opportunity to see what others are going thru and figure out how to fix it. I did a fresh install off Steam, installed all the legacy dependencies it needed when launched. Edited the ini file so I can use the console and did the 'open fow.saltybawls.com' in console and 30 seconds later I was on the server. Worked right out of the box.

I was sitting there scratching my head, like WTF? Why does it always work for me and not others? And this was going from an nVidia on my laptop with Windows 10 to an AMD in my gaming PC with Windows 11 and still no issues. So I just don't know... :steamfacepalm: I failed deliberately trying to fail.

I got it. I uninstalled, retried installing the legacy PhysX and now it somehow works fine. Thanks

I only installed the PhysX from the game folder and it works just fine. Just finished the game in one row after about 5,5h :)

I could not get the game to start with the physX that it came with. Installing the physX package from PCgamingwiki fixed it for me. https://www.pcgamingwiki.com/wiki/Frontlines:_Fuel_of_War

well for me the ageia physx version didn't work but downloading the nvidia physx drivers and skipping the physx installation step during boot up it ended up working
