Can the coop partner customize the character they play as?

Was looking to convince a friend to pick up the game for coop, but i noticed you need to go past character creation to be able to host a multiplayer session. Will the other player be able to customize their characters stats/appearance?

This is not possible for now, since the host is the one who creates a game. I will note this as feedback, so we can think about it in future patches.

I actually think this is a good thing. What if a troll joins you and decides to seek your gear or ditch the gear or whatever. I can understand stats and skills but gear should be locked to the non host player.

Not sure how that made it past beta. If you're gonna invite someone to play a game where you can make characters, you can sure bet the other player is gonna wanna do that. Kinda co-op 101.

Small indie team, that's how. It's not ideal, for sure, but you can still assist your mate on character creation if you want something specific, there's many ways to share screen out there.

The host can still be the owner of the save file like other coop CRPGs, like Baldurs Gate, Divinity OSin, where the host keeps the save game but everyone gets a character creation screen if they party up before the game starts

I understand the devs are a small indie team, but its been the hardest sell to everyone i tried to get to play the game with me, even with screen sharing being fairly easy in this day and age
