soulstorm persistent bases in campaign
is there any recent or currently working mods that allows the campaign to function similarly to Dark Crusade, when the game remembers your base after you take a territory ?

I doubt it, they would be too hard to code as an aftermarket add-in.

The closest thing you can get to it in game is if you play as the Sisters of Battle or beat them and hold their base camp territory, you can requisition reinforcement and attack buildings along the lines of up to 4 generators, an armory, a research building and up to 4 turrets. If you win on invading a territory with the "Forward Base", then those buildings will stay there for future defenses. Nowhere near as powerful as persistant bases in Dark Crusade, but at least it gives you a leg up. (4 free generators are such a boon for Necron!) For this reason, I try to wipe out the Sisters the first chance I get in Soulstorm's campaign. Also, I don't bother with the free turrets, since I prefer to place them myself. The game usually sets them too close to my main base for my liking, and I like to explore a bit and place them a little further out near relics and chokepoints. I miss persistant bases, but I suppose it levels the playing field a bit for each match. Dang I wish I had them in "Take and Hold" matches near the gates!

On the plus side, Soulstorm has a HUGE honorguard near the end, assuming you take the time to snatch up all those territories with the rewards. Almost near the end of the campaign with 1 army left to wipe out and I start with 4 squads of necron warriors, 2 immortals, a builder scarab, 2 destroyers, a tombship, 2 wraiths and a pariah squad.

thanks anyway but without it i find it kills the campaign having to defend either from nothing or with nearly a base and some units

Google Soulstorm Campaign bases. The Relic forums had some.

been through that i think. the Campaign bases version i found only saved the strategic points and capture points but no buildings but in the more recent comments on the page had what looked like working code or scripts but i didnt have the software to deal with it myself. but thanks anyway
