What tier is this?
Stormboyz along with nice tellyportin' nobz/slugga/shootaboy squad with mek kills them quite well early on.
Massed big shootas are excellent if you can get enough of your boyz in range without them eating plasma fire in the meantime.
Watch out for Snare traps,they can ruin your game,especially later on when you get nobz and the tau has a whole lot of Fire warriors and power.
Fire Warriors have deployment time for their weapons,be sure to capitalize on that. If you go Stormboyz be sure to always take the turbo upgrate at the Pile of Gunz,it is really cheap,really powerful and no fire warriors will be getting away from you then,Snare trap or not...Stick your Mek with sluggas on the top of the Tau Commander and he is either toast or he will be occupied for a while - however be smart with your tellyporta,you only get 1 jump. If you decide to get them Ork vehicles can be very devestating in this match up. 3-6 trukks will melt away fire warriors,they are cheap and due to his low HP the Tau Commander will be ♥♥♥♥♥♥ as well.If Stealthsuits arrive - and they will - use the Mek to detect them and focus fire on them,they die even faster that the FW do due to very low HP and small squad size.If you decide to go nobz and smash them in tier 2,get 2 trukks for transportation,get close and disembark. Just remember,nobz should always be put on overwatch during a fight.
If the game goes to Tier 3,get Fighta bommas before you get Flash Gitz. Huge range,high HP so they are not wasted by Stealthsuits in a instant,good speed,chop off half of Fire Warriors health with a single Grot bomb,gigantic disruption.
Then get Flash Gitz + doks and nobz + warboss and mek as usual. As long as you avoid getting your gitz fried by XV-8 Crisis Suits and your nobz are not ensnared,you should be good to go.

Harras with Mek attached to sluggas at the start of the match while capping everything.
Decide if you will go shoota/stormboyz early game and get them,not much else to say

Wartrukk spam highly recommended.
