New Unification version is a huge letdown

LAA doesn't do much though. It is the game itself that has a lot of trouble because it wasn't made for using a lot of RAM.

Latency area networks apply to any game which has internet access. Effect speeds in and drops within the server and game. If this is the issue speak to internet provider. Depends on country and area you live and plan your on.

My advice

-use LAA for the game soulstorm.exe to unlock more ram memory
- when starting the game do not go to army painter and select all the factions/units (requires memory that is why), so straight to game and play on a 6p map (preferably not higher)
- do not use Emperor's Children
- In options do the following:
- Set shadows to NONE (off)
- Set Full 3D unit camera = OFF
- Set FX lighting = OFF
- set persistent bodies to low
- set persistent scarring to low or NONE.

Look for the settings where it sees if anything affects the world/map/stage > turn that off.

Then it is playable and also DO NOT press steam shortcut keys (F12).

"When launching a first match with the new version, there is a chance you will get a CTD at the start of the loading process. That is normal. The game profile still wants to load the SCAR files from the old version. A simple restart of the game(not the PC) will fix this and the game will load fine.

As you may have read before, we have done many tests and confirmed that the Discord App messes with the DirectX9 DOW uses as it injects itself for the Overlay.

I just nuked the entire Soulstorm installation before even downloading the new version to make sure the older one didn't give mi crap.

Anyway, for now i played a few survivals and found no issue. There may be issues but no reason to be this apocalyptic.

I don't quite like new Steel Legion sounds / voices. Old were better. Imo. And Night Lords are just weird.

There are some very amusing Easter eggs with Red Alert 2 references in Voystrans and C&C Generals in Death Korps of Krieg. But overall I have to say its more stable then previous versions.

It would be beneficial for the entire mod if they would stop adding freak-state NSFW anime girls infesting all of the factions. That's my pet peeve with Unification, since I can't escape it even playing normally in campaign. It's quantity over quality, I'm afraid. One of the reasons I went straight back to playing Ultimate Apocalypse.

I don't think it installed correctly for me. I'm going to run the installer and run the process again. I think it bricks if you accidentally run the installer exe without the zip file that contains the main content. But yeah otherwise I'm in the same spot as the OP, unification mod simply doesn't load up a map. Can't play bloodshed alley.

Edit: Got it working but now the game hates alt-tabbing.

I've never played this mod before, can someone explain to me why there's ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ anime girls and ♥♥♥♥, the greater daemonettes look utterly bizarre compared to the normal daemonette models.

Some of the work is very high quality when it comes to the vanilla races, but it's clear that there was one autistic guy on the mod team who thought it would be really funny if he put his giantess fetish in the slaanesh factions, put his le epic mandalorian OC with super cool sniper girlfriend in the "Shogunate" faction and just all around made a crap effort.

Is there a way I can trim this down to remove some of the awful parts of this mod? It does have some genuinely unique high quality models.
