Down of War Soulstorm mod for better Campaign Balance?
So, I really like the look and feel of the DoW1 game so I decided to try out the Soulstorm campaign. Knowing some fundamentals, I started it as Necrons at Normal difficulty, and oh man how easy it was. My units just didn't die. Curiously, I went to look at what the difficulties actually do... and of course, my units don't die if they have twice the health they usually have. Who thought that player needs such a massive advantage on "normal" difficulty? And the worst part is that on "hard" it's the AI who has an advantage and I get demolished! Can't I have some simple balanced experience?

Sorry for a little rant there. The question is, are there any mods that would correct the difficulty balancing? Preferably that each side has equal modifiers to health and everything. I'm not looking for some super challenging gameplay, and neither I need some other modifiers to the Campaign (though if they're minor enough, I wouldn't mind). I don't mind if the Campaign will end up pretty easy (AI there isn't particularly good I assume), but just not as easy as having twice the health over the enemy. Thanks.

(Sorry for the necropost)

Well, I don't know if it gives more HP to your units, but a mod that makes it easier is the Crucible mod. Specifically, the Campaign addon. It gives more requisition.. aaand that's kinda all I remember besides the stuff it took from Ultimate Apocalypse. (Yes, it took nearly everything that was in UA and put it in Crucible. I don't know why.)

Sooo, that's kinda the only easier campaign addon/mod. There is the advanced campaign mod, but that makes the AI even BETTER... yikes. Oh, and, it crashes everytime I try to load it.

I heavily recommend the Advanced Campaign mod. It allows persistent bases, fantastic tweaks to the Ai, makes Honor Guards more useful, adds new units that don't feel redundant or out of place, and improves the gameplay to feel more like the tabletop game.

Crucible and Unification feel unbalanced and bloated in my opinion but AC finds a nuanced balance between vanilla and something new.

play the ultimate apocalypse mod campaign on normal.

I promise you wont think its easy. And if you make it clear to the last planet where you're attacking lvl 10-14 areas.

I have 4 races in different campaign saves that drop dead in 2 seconds invading Chaos.

Unification adds daemons, tyranids and the inquisition as playable factions to the campaign - difficulty modifier is still there as ultimately that's how the game does difficulty. The Gameplay is based largely upon vanilla soulstorm so it's not excessively different although it does add permanent bases and some other QoL stuff.

If you have the Corsix Mod Studio, you can open up to Dawn of War module and alter the difficulty variables yourself, setting unit health of both player and AI to a multiplier of "1".

Weren't the difficulty modifiers for Unification changed to be less ridiculous compared to vanilla? Last I heard, the AI gets 100% HP on all difficulties, while the player gets 150%, 125% and 100% HP for Easy, Normal and Hard respectively.

I would have to check, I don't really play campaign but I thought IL had made it hard coded.
