So, tell me about the Ultimate Apocalypse mod, is it any good?

I'm thinking about getting it, since it apparently gives each faction much more units, there is at least one thing i'm curious about and didn't see in the mod's description, does it happen to include Adeptus Custodes? It wouldn't be too much of a big deal if not, except i'd be a little disappointed if so.

UA is peak 40k and i love it.

Adeptus Custodes aren`t htere,as far as I remmeber. However, indeed, Ultimate Apocalypse is the best combination of mods from dawn of war: soulstorm and the best total war: warhammer 40000 video game experience ever. It`s like total war: warhammer series in w40k. The only w40k game which havethat uch races and attention to detail as this mod is BattlefleetGothic: Armada 2. About units: even now, this mod is the only way to control Emperor class titan (Imperial guard have acess to it, setting numerous parameters of skirmish help to get it in around 1 hour).

Thats just windows defender sperging out, UA is perfectly safe we wouldn't release anything that is harmful to people's computers

It's not really, it's just complaining because an .exe was compiled by some guy somewhere without their permission and their intended future doesn't include that kind of anarchy. If you're actually unsure about a download, throw it at virustotal first.

I would humbly suggest that unification has more races.

At a glance UA and Unification seem to both be actively developed and pretty current kitchen sink megamods, are you missing anything critical by using one over the other?

Whilst I'm a Uni dev and so clearly biased, both play differently with different goals and content - both are also free and you can have them installed side by side with out issues using mod manager, so unless you are dicey on bandwidth then give unification, crucible and/or UA a try and see which suits you. Or flick between them as hey, who am I to tell you how to have fun? :D

Uni has a lot more races and gameplay styles but plays more closely to the vanilla soulstorm balance (although there is an add-on to increase the squad caps) and at a cost to match sizes as you are unlikely to get a 4v4 working owing to memory limitations from the game being super old. New version coming soonish will add another half dozen races - we post updates on our moddb and discord if you ever want to pop by.
