I would humbly suggest that unification has more races.
Whilst I'm a Uni dev and so clearly biased, both play differently with different goals and content - both are also free and you can have them installed side by side with out issues using mod manager, so unless you are dicey on bandwidth then give unification, crucible and/or UA a try and see which suits you. Or flick between them as hey, who am I to tell you how to have fun? :D
Uni has a lot more races and gameplay styles but plays more closely to the vanilla soulstorm balance (although there is an add-on to increase the squad caps) and at a cost to match sizes as you are unlikely to get a 4v4 working owing to memory limitations from the game being super old. New version coming soonish will add another half dozen races - we post updates on our moddb and discord if you ever want to pop by.
