Why TF is the icon for this game the iron warriors legion emblem, when they aren't in the game?

Was it part of some cut content or something? I think that iron warriors would have been an amazing faction instead of getting word bearers again.

I mean I know this game is ancient but I still like it. It just feels that soulstorm is RAW and should have been in the oven longer.

that too. but yeah a shame we didn't get iron warriors. I honestly thought it would have been cool if there was like a 3 way battle between blood ravens, ultra marines and iron warriors. TBH Ultra marines and iron warriors are my favorite chapters of space marines,

Well considering the logo is a Dark Eldar incubus i see why no iron warriors were added.........lol

While any resemblence to the lore in DoW is pure coincidence, you are right. The IW emblem is not even close. The Soulstorm symbol resemble one of the incubus helmets way more.

Edit: It does resemble the pre-heresy IW emblem, but it is obviously closer to incubus (incubii?) helmet.

Well not only is it coincidentally the lore, any offical gw product IS the lore.

I mean that GW take is that everything is canon, but not necesarily true. And given how Alpha legion is portrayed, and that little detail about a chaos sorcerer transforming in a daemon prince of Khorne, misplacing a hundred baneblades... I think that DoW being among the most lore friendly games says less about the other games than more about this one XD.

Is what it is, has a canon ending tide into 40k lore, khorne has always had sorcerers.... just their daemons and warriors have no magical powers, imperium is known for being completely clumsy with logistics. So its lazy writing but definitely very lore friendly I guess the alpha legion thing is kind of true they should have just had a generic chaos undivided legion. GW could say the emperor returned, turned the galaxy into gumdrops and you would have to accept that lore.

If it was a pre-heresy IW emblem then it would be a 30K game. It is actually an Incubi helmet to show the Dark Eldar have been added to the game. It is subtle product placement but I believe Dark Crusade was Necron symbol (someone will correct me if I am wrong). Each faction will get it's moment of glory. You can add IW using custom banners, badges and colours. Best place to look is online for this. You can enjoy the game anyway you want, just have fun and beat the xenos... and heretics... and any non-imperium faction...
