Summaries of the new factions would be nice.
I got the mod to work, but none of the options are available for the campaign. Nothing about permanent bases, new units, new races, nothing.
I am having a few problems though...
-It looks like there's a new "Game Manager" option on the main menu now. And it looks like we have to "activate" each of the new mods. Is that correct? The "Tyranids Mod" is not activating for me, and it's giving me an error popup window telling me so. Also, I'm a little confused as to how this works. Do I have to activate all of these and then choose which on I want to play? What's the difference between the four options?
-I have had one crash to desktop. While playing in skirmish mode with just two teams (myself and one other)
-Game froze at loading and produced an error popup when I tried to load a skirmish map with all 8 teams.
Really enjoying the new look and feel of the game, though. DoW SS was my first ever 40K purchase, and I was a little miffed that I'd unknowingly picked with one of the weaker titles. But this really makes up for it!
Thanks again!
I only have two. Base Soulstorm and Tyranids mod.
Dark Crusade is probably the best one but SS is still my personal favourite. :) Never expected to see the Sisters in a 40K game, well, EVER.
Overall - FINALLY THEY PACKED EVERYTHING GOOD IN ONE MOD WITHOUT ANY GAMEPLAY CHANGES
So a thumbs up from me
(in very silent voice)
Hey guys I can provide some Tyranid Swarm goodies if you interested but hush-hush tho
So, let me share a couple of things here:
1] For more info, click the [READ MORE] button at the beginning of the page:
https://www.moddb.com/mods/unification-mod-dawn-of-war-soulstorm
2] For installation instructions, see here:
https://www.moddb.com/mods/unification-mod-dawn-of-war-soulstorm/news/whats-new-in-unification-40
3] There are TONS of additions. Just look at the Win Conditions to enable them.
4] For Campaign Configuration and win conditions, run the small app that in included in Unification, and allows to modify many options:
Unification_Bugfix \ Unification_Configurator_1.0.0.exe
.. Also note that the content in this mod is HUGE.
No other mod contains 17 new races - of UBER quality, and has added so many things.
For vanilla, I just suggest you should try Necrons, Eldar or Tau!!
I think the answer is no, they're only available in skirmish or MP, but want to check in case I'm wrong.
Don't think I'm savvy enough to install that way... I just downloaded the one with the installer, maybe that's why I'm having some trouble - I'm getting pretty consistent crashes to the desktop when I "Activate" and play "Unification New Races". "Unification Mod" seems fine so far. And I still get an error message when I try to "Activate" the "Tryanid Mod".
Other than that, I'm having a blast with it.
One thing: is the overall difficulty any harder with this mod? I'm getting my ass kicked at a rate I never did on original SS.
You can just play one mod at a time as I understand it. Just activate Unification Bugfixes.
