Should I bother with winter assault or go straight to dark crusade/soulstorm?

I play soulstorm for the online, which is fun.

I beat the vanilla game's campaign on 'hard' difficulty, now wondering if winter assault is worth it. Played the first few missions... not a HUGE fan with the whole faction switching mid mission... but if its good I'll keep trucking along.

Side note: Can someone give me the general advice for playing Orks? I was trying in SS online and I always have trouble getting a steady economy going. I assume I just spam warrgh banners until I have enough pop?

Just play campaign. No community left in winter assault. Play only imperial guard in skirmish. I'd skip multiplayer there. Move to dark crusades play both new factions then move to soulstorm.

Play through in cronical order try to understand how the game developed, factions,units and races.

The base games the same but small variation to ballance and gameplay.

Soulstorms holds the biggest community. I would not spend super long on the first 3 games unless your a veteran.

Move to soulstorm and pick 1 faction to master with and learn the best tactic with them to help you win. Play all other factions off-line till you become good helps you understand game better.

Watch replays and see how you lose and win and copy experts or veteran players who know how to play.

I would say that Soulstorm is best for MP. Winter assault has a pretty good campaign, in fact I would say it's my favorite, and it came before the stealth changes that I'm not a huge fan so you may like it for skirmish but the campaign is the primary draw.

Winter Assault has my favorite campaign. But you know, personal taste.

You can play it for single player. But you have to find the WA players or play with friends. It has small playbase. Im not sure if anyone still there.
