Unification mod keeps crashing

i keep getting this error message saying "error unable to create the error report please verify that there is enough space in your TEMP folder." maybe five or 10 minutes into any game. anyone else have this problem? is there a solution?

Joys of old games, it's limited to a low amount of ram.

Enable LAA, try vulkan, but stay away from large matches with the larger content race mods. So try a 6p map etc. Something like EC has the biggest memory hit, whereas vanilla would be lower.

i have been able to play ultimate apocalypse mod and ultra no limit mod with no issues. and some pretty huge matches. on the other hand i have had unification mod give me this error message just from looking through the units in army painter

there was an easy fix it seems, it's been a while since i played soulstorm and i forgot to use the 4gb patch i only remembered when you mentioned the ram, thanks.

Are you using mod manager? It's enable LAA in that.

no i havent been using the mod manager but it has been working fine since i used the 4gb patch.

well if you are using the mod manager apparently its as simple as enabling LAA there, otherwise there is a 4gb patch that has been around for a long time i think i had to download it for the ultimate apocalypse mod, it just allows the soulstorm.exe to use 4gb of ram instead of 2gb. i think you could find it with a google search.

i would think using the MM is the simplest way, save you from needing to download anything. i just still had that patch sitting in my soulstorm folder from years ago, all i had to do was run it once and i was away.

It's a fan patch I presume? I only own physical copy of Soulstorm so that may be a quite a bit outdated....thanks to the Unification mod I'm really thinking about purchasing digital copy in some time. All thanks to moded races in the campaign(now only vanilla ones but it's tau and guardsmen that interest me the most from this mod, apar from the World Eaters so it's good).

Certainly used to be you emailed sega with your physical key and they gave you a steam key.

Well I reached out to Segas support and indeed they do still give out Steam keys. Though Soulstorm product key can be also used to have the game added to your library, which is nice.

Description has all the links you need, how to install is said at hour 20 of the vid. After installing everything from there, use this patch:

Otherwise you may encounter some bugs. I had a black screen problem on hero screen but after installing that patch, no problems whatsoever. Just be sure to click on the "unification races" mod while setting up the DoW mod manager, otherwise you will launch the tyranid mod instead.

I gave up on Unification simply because it was crash city no matter what I did. I get thats just my experience and others worked, but its bad when it crashes on the main menu after like 3 minutes. I might try it again later but I'm just not gonna bother for now.
