Enable LAA, try vulkan, but stay away from large matches with the larger content race mods. So try a 6p map etc. Something like EC has the biggest memory hit, whereas vanilla would be lower.
Well I reached out to Segas support and indeed they do still give out Steam keys. Though Soulstorm product key can be also used to have the game added to your library, which is nice.

Otherwise you may encounter some bugs. I had a black screen problem on hero screen but after installing that patch, no problems whatsoever. Just be sure to click on the "unification races" mod while setting up the DoW mod manager, otherwise you will launch the tyranid mod instead.
