Changing Territory Honor Guard availability (& prices).
I know there is a way to change which honor guard unit is available via any given territory; but I can't remember which file(s) is(/are) involved in doing such. Sadly, this is a different computer than I had before, etc.

So, any help with rediscovering the technique for doing such would be greatly appreciated.

Never mind. I found the files. They're the *.ter files; at least as far as the units themselves go. I'll have to dig further to locate where the costs are to be found.
what exactly do you need?

best would be to use corsix mod studio. then go into your DXP > data > attr > ebps > races > race you desire > troops; for squad loadouts look into data > attr > sbps.

you can also alter the singleplayer version. they are usually called the same but with _sp or _sp_advanced at the end

I for myself removed the cap for any unit in the game so far

I'm in the process of changing which Honor Guard Units are rewarded for taking (and holding) any given territory. I have been using Corsix's Mod Studio and I did find the *.ter files for each of the territories in Soulstorm. So; as I said, that's no longer an issue.

Now, however, I'd like to change (swap) the rewards for nirraein.ter and the cape_of_despair.ter. Nirraein is currently a WapGate territory and (for the Necrons) the Cape of Despair yields a (Blueprint = ) "necron_destroyer_squad_advance_sp".

Changing the two is easy enough, internally; but the graphics then become an issue. I did find the metamap322.dds file which has the transit lines from all the Warp Gates. Sadly though, I have yet to find the files for the two territories themselves. I don't know if they are part of the *.whe and/or *.whm files; as I don't know how to work with those (yet). But I'll keep looking.

For those who read this and would like to know the reasoning behind this madness: When playing as the Necrons; I'd like to go from one territory to another without having to back track. In order to do such, I'll also have to change the Eldar main Territory such that the Broken Lands and Principian Badlands touch each other above Kier Harrad and below it.

I'll still have to eventually back track in order to eliminate the Eldar, unless I contend with them earlier than ultimately desired; but there's little I can do about that.

Once you've taken the Eldar stronghold this won't be a problem, as you'll be able to move three territories in a single turn.

As for changing the territories so that the borders line up differently... yeah, good luck with that. You'll need to edit the 3d models directly (that's the whe and whm files you mentioned), plus there's some Scaleform middleware involved that is pretty much un-moddable.

This is true and you can even do a significant amount of damage with just the Necron Lord alone; prior to the main base being moved (if you so choose). Mind you, destroying the ability for the main base to relocate causes serious issues and such. So, I don't advise completely taking out either of those two warp gates; but you can severely damage them and pop in later to finish them off.

If you have a wraith in your honor guard, you can also sneak it out of the initial area and past the waiting Eldar; if you phase. You can then use it to take out several of the Eldar listening posts and such. Again, all prior to the very first conflict ensuing.

One might consider that cheating, I suppose, but it's the programmers' fault for the Eldar troops not being in those areas; not your fault! Besides, "All's fair in War".

PS. You will, of course, want to have chosen the ability to detect infiltrated units as your very first piece of gear.

HI stohrm,
I'm currently trying to do a very similar thing to what you were doing; swapping honor guard units. I'm unable to locate these .ter files you speak of within Corsix's Mod Studio. Do you remember where they were?
Thanks

Glad you found them; as I haven't played any of my Steam games in ages, now. Been too busy playing (Blizzard's) WoW. So, I didn't see your comments/question 'til today.
