I like the Black Heart Kabal colour scheme for DE (and I love DE). I also like the 412th Cadian from Winter Assault for IG. I'm also partial to the Word Bearers and T'au Sept.

I DESPISE the red colour for the Tau in SS. There;s a mod that changes it in the campaign to the traditional T'au Sept scheme.

One by one:

Chaos: World Eaters / Word Bearers(WE, Red + Brass, is better, but if talking vanilla colors, WB), Children colors are also very interesting

Dark Eldar: Bloodied Claw(though I like my almost WE design better - Red + Brass) / Emasculators(Purples, yes? Nice scheme)

Eldar: Menaan is nice. As is Ava-Nile, Biel Tan and, somewhat, Il-Kaithe. If I'm allowed to take out of the game schemes, Lugganath and its colors rock!

Imperial Guard: 252nd Kaurava Conservator(with a slight edit to the "gold color"), 180th(Brown) and 412th Cadian are very nice as well.

Necron: Lorn V for sure, that black + brown's sexy. Though Sevara is also nice in that swampy green color.

Orks: Honestly? Nothing. If I had to choose...Big Choppaz or Blood Axes. Maybe Gold Toofz too.

Sisters: Bloody Rose, for sure(or Fervent Heart - it's very interesting too). Though there's something about Ardent Flame too. And Martyred Lady is a classic(I'd just edit the blue out of it).

Space Marines: Blood Ravens, honestly. They're the least garish scheme. Though less garish Dark Angels or Blood Angels could be nice(especially BAs with MORE GOLD!)

Tau: In game? Sa'cea, T'au and Tau'n(probably in that order, but I'd tone down the garishness of Sa'cea orange tbh). Others suck. Especially Fal'shia, D'yanoi etc. The thing is, my design of deep brown + red Trim Fal'shia looks beyond awesome - the in game red crap can take a hike though. Keep in mind - Vior'la is RED / BRIGHT RED, Fal'shia is DEEP / DARK RED!

Most of Tau colors are wrong anyhow and, besides, only Trims matter(set Trim 2 to Gunmetal Gray or something so Kroot actually look like themselves). Main Trim is the color code of the Sept. White for T'au, Bright Red for Vior'la / Dark Red for Fal'shia, some warm(rather than garish) Orange for Sa'cea etc. Find more here:

Could be that Fal'shia is actually some Ochre? Hm...nice. Also, I'd like if the Tau Commander was color matched to Primary, not 1st Trim. That stuff works only for Kauyon TCs.

edit: Damn that Tau Tactica, they didn't require a login to see the forum.

It could have been that the colours were correct when DC was released, but a new Tau codex switched them up.

Sort of. T'au, Vior'la, Sa'cea and Bork'an were based on schemes in the then-current Codex, but Tau'n, Fal'shia, D'yanoi and Dal'yth didn't have anything official at the time so Relic just made them up.
I honestly just play the Tau cause their armor makes me think of Star Wars Clone Troopers. My boyz are the Orks, Spees Mehreens, and le Necrons.

Indeed. Those four are very accurate. Concerning Fal'shia, who thought that Red + Red is a good idea?

One thing to note is that you can literally have WHATEVER as your Armor color as Tau(I have purple + dark red + gray for Tau'n, looks sweet and accurate - think "Strife Kabal" colors). Because the primary identificator is the color of Trim, of the Stripes on your armor. Though, not having Ochre T'au is kinda strange.
