Anyway to fix the flickering cursor on Linux/Proton?
It's not the worst thing ever but it's a bit annoying. Is there a fix?

I mean... there is one fix, its not playing on those platforms and using windows.

Well yes and no. On my desktop with Windows it's fine, but my laptop does not play well with Windows 10, and Windows 7 stops support in a few months. Native Linux games work fine, and it's only Soulstorm with Proton that has the flickering cursor problem.

go to /SteamLibrary/steamapps/common/Dawn of War Soulstorm/Drivers
and replace allowhwcursor 1 with allowhwcursor 0

Worked for me.

Old forum but perfect fix!!!

Works for DoW GOTY, Winter Assault, Dark Crusade and Soulstorm!

btw: I'm on Widows 10

can confirm that it works and its location: file name: spdx9_config.txt (inside of game folder: /SteamLibrary/steamapps/common/Dawn of War *game*/Drivers).

a bit back there was an update that messed up hardware cursor, either from windows or nvidia. this should solve the mouse flicker in a number of games if you make sure hardware cursor is off.
