If you want to play the regular game in multiplayer, its probably better to play without the patch as most people won't have it so you'll have a harder time finding multiplayer games. It won't affect singleplayer though (might make it run a bit smoother on larger maps due to more available memory for the program). So make a copy of the exe files you patch somewhere so you can easily swap them over. Also, if you make a mistake, you can always delete the exes and then verify your files. I patch both the soulstorm.exe file (defs patch this) and the graphicsconfig.exe file (not sure if this is needed) and the mod works fine for me. Occasionally crashes during multiplayer games though, which it doesn't do very often in singleplayer. Launching nukes and using other mass area affect super weapons can lead to crashes in multiplayer games, so I'd recommend you use the "Disable Game Enders" option. I kinda like removing them from the game anyways, but that's just me.
