Also since you were part of the UA-Team and also for this one: I and my friends sincerly thank you for your hard work and dedication to this beautiful gem of a game.
To be honest I have invested … LOADS of time in Soulstorm, but hey, I enjoyed every bit of it!!!
I am really curious, as to why so many people STILL play the game... unmodded. It is an excellent game even so, but the race mods and the fixes and additions, are really able to elevate the game to EXREME levels!!!
But anyway, now we WILL be able to play Unification, consistently!
Since the >2gb mem allocation is MANDATORY/COMPULSORY for playing Unification - and other mods as well, this is a real inconvenience.
So I contacted the game creators requesting an update on the exe, to make the game to permanently support the >2GBs mem allocation buffer.
Regrettably - but quite reasonably - there are some programming complications entailed in the endeavour, and it would require some heavy coding to achieve that.
See here for more:
https://community.dawnofwar.com/discussion/13601/increasing-soulstorm-memory-buffer
Also my apoligies for not playing the game a bit more but there have been people over this week soo far and so we've been playing differetn things. I hope t give it a more extensive try soon.
I expected that (I am a code myself), but honestly, I think it COULD be done...
Anyway :)
Man, to be honest I do not know why people are still playing mainly vanilla SS...
With so many race mods, enhancements, winconditions, fixes.... it is really pity.
Pity.
Really, have you seen Dark Angels or Witch Hunters, brothers?
The game is really ageing, and with only the 9 vanilla races I do no see why wouldn't you try something new.
Unification - at this version - introduces 4 new races and a plethora of new content.
I sincerely do not see why most are still playing the game unmodded....
Remember, it also has an OBSOLETE version of the objective points mod included.
This objective point version must be DELETED - and then install the latest version.
For more on installation, see the detailed descriptions here: http://www.moddb.com/mods/unification-mod-dawn-of-war-soulstorm/features/unification-steam-multiplayer-edition
(see the "Warning", at the end of the page)
Note that this is no low-quality mod, brother. It is what DLCs should be. And the races are of equal quality to the vanilla ones (some of higher!). As for the AI, the visual enhancements and the SCaR (win conditions and overall coding integration)... These are definitelly far exceeding vanilla standards.
You see we had all the time in the world to develop them - and an excellent (the best) modding base provided by Relic! They were my (THE) favourite game studio of all time. Really.
---------------------------
Pity DoW2 was not as modding-friendly as DoW1 :( It is an equally excellent game and I would gladly migrated to it if the modding support were similar. Bah...
...And now DoW3 is not only the WORSE of the series, it only supports map-making, dammit!
They took the worst possible direction with 3 - the direction of profit. The plague of modern era.
You may have heard and red tons of posts about this one. But I think I can summarise in one sentence the reason the gamed died so fast:
DoW3 LACKS DEPTH. Avoid.
There, I said it.
Haven't you ever tried Dark Angels? Or Witch Hunters?
These race mods (and many more) are VERY high quality.
My team - and me personally - has created some masterpieces right there! I cannot believe that you have not tried Thousand Sons, for example...
Note also that you can visit ModDB to see more of our work!
In the Unification page, I have many links to MANY race mods.
Brothers, STOP playing the game unmodded! We have spent countless hours creating races for all to enjoy. And we are talking professional-quality status. Just have a look here for the 4 currently supported ones:

... And more will be added, based on community interest.
Unification, combines them all in a SEAMLESS fashion. It is not a simple combiner, it is MUCH MORE!
My team will soon be realising some mods, so I wanted to inform you about some more goodies that will soon be coming your way!
First, it's the updated Unification mod. HUGE updates, including a totally new game mode - Survival (by brother Argonaut)
Then, Inquisition Daemonhunters. This was long-anticipated, and we have included a completely new branch - the Grey Knights!
Do not think for a moment that we are gone!
There are more mods and updates coming, but these two above, are specifically scheduled for the holidays :)
For more, see here:

You can also visit our various threads ModDB, there are dedicated rooms for DoW modding.
What?? You do not own Dawn of War... yet?? Blasphemy!
At its current cost, and with the plethora of mods (like Ultimate Apocalypse, Titanium Wars, Strongholds, the plethora of race mods, and much more), there is no excuse :)
That's awesome, I'll try check it out.
And merry Christmas!
As are our race mod projects.
Merry Christmas brothers !
I tried opening them, and now Windows10 has them stuck as 7z files
Feels like I broke them, but they weren't working to begin with.
Who is missing something here?
EDIT: I did save the files in the Soulstorm folder as with other mods for DoW, yet the files *FreeUI" and "Unification 3.3" did not come up in the Game Manager.
