How's the state of the game now?
I read some reviews and the game seems very interesting. Most negative reviews were about the bugginess of the game, but it's now been a while since release. How is it?

I bought the game recently and so far I have some 14 hours played. I havent seen any game breaking bugs, but there are some smaller ones from time to time. The dev is working on fixing them. Other than that there are various "imperfections" rather than outright bugs (like the player character sometimes moving through a wall, especially at the Chinese base) though I guess stuff like that is to be expected in an indie game like this.

also graphics is really old. maybe mid 2000 like. not much important for me, though :)

It's fine! Not perfect, but it's really stable! And I wouldnt call the graphics old...more like stylized. I don't think it was going for photorealism. Def not AAA, but pretty good for an indie, and no way anything mid 2000 could render that lighting and atmosphere.. some of those vistas in the game are beautiful.

I have not been able to play this game since the first update to 1.142. Keeps crashing back to desktop from an apparent fault with ntdll.dll file. I haven't been able to find an answer nor anyone else experiencing the same issue :(

Most likely an issue located solely on my machine.

Hi stevie,

Nobody reported anything of the kind, and it sounds like a hardware issue or a corrupt install. 1.141 to 1.142 was only three layout fixes and one balance tweak, so any changes in that can't be the cause.

Low level errors like ntdll generally indicate corrupt files, video drivers or faulty/inadequate RAM. Try clearing the Steam cache and reinstalling, and if that fails update your drivers and do a mem check. The account you're posting this from doesn't seem to own the game (did you refund it?) so I can't check any error logs.

Visually it needs an update. The UI is ... not great. The Text To Speech engine it uses is so irritating to me that I play with sound off. The camera is kinda bad.

I've been watching people stream this for a while. I'm really interested in it myself, but it looks so dreary and the "fog" on the planet surface combined with the camera seems so very frustrating.

The UI is fine for a complex game like this once you get used to it. The dev implemented a lot of improvements based on community feedback and I'm happy with it now. There is a lot of information to process in the game.... so there is a lot of interface. I'd love a Rover-To-Outpost button, but that's my only remaining gripe with it. I wanted automatic navigation at first, but after finishing the game twice I know why that isn't in. It's much more fun to explore yourself.

You can argue that having to walk over to the Outpost subsystems to control them is clunky, but personally I love it. ...Adds so much to the immersion and everything is on the same screen so it's not a big deal anyway.

Camera is fine too, since the free cam mode was introduced. Maybe you're watching old streams without the free cam?

Text-to-speech? You mean the base AI? You realise all the other characters are voiced by actors, right..... I think the AI is supposed to be a little annoying ;)

The game is set on an inhospitable moon with a dense atmosphere. So yeah, dreary and foggy. ...but sometimes you see something really beautiful and it's all the more special, you know?
