The unofficial one: Redamze's absence of selfdiscipline affected his ability to meet monthly quotas.
Long story short: there are no updates since May.
The dev got game addicted. The game is called Genshin Impact.
He also plays other games and chats A LOT. There is no way he has enough time to work on a whole chapter.
...
Before Genshin Impact, he was in a state where I asked myself "How can this dev spend so much time playing and chatting while getting things done?". He needed so much motivation to do everything and he doesn't have it anymore. A few weeks before he changed, he admitted a few things, said something like "Wtf did I sign up for?" while doing this work. His nerves are seemingly done.
Many people on Steam are game addicted and might think it doesn't mean much. He lost the self-control and I wouldn't call him a dev anymore. He does have a lot of plans and says he is not done yet. But in order to create, he needs to move his arms for the sake of MGI.
We do not certainly know if he does anything meaningful SINCE 14 MONTHS. But one thing is very clear. He cannot be playing Genshin Impact and creating at once.
Based on what I read throughout a good chunk of this forum, I end up wondering if mod projects will just end up adding a lot to the game.
Oh yeah! I read those but I meant for this thread. Some of the stuff said had me rolling on the floor laughing. lmao
One positive I can give though besides smooth animation quality and neat 3D characters is that YandereDev's game had engine and performance optimization issues, but MGI turned out to not be that way in my experience. I do think it's unrealistic to do something with a large scale and think anyone can handle all of it on their own, even when they are not creating all of the assets, which in YandereDev's case, so much felt out of place.
As for the content itself and what people complained about, it is adult material and I look down on censorship. It's all fictional so I usually don't make a fuss about the type of content used. If it wasn't my cup of tea, then I would leave it behind and ignore it.
It's sad to see something that started off passionate and beautiful get abandoned to die...
You know you're acting rude and childish. Sorry if my long post triggered you but this is the damn truth. Better only come here if you are prepared for criticism.
I supported the game's development like many others and there is great disappointment.
People want to be enlightened. Don't interfere if you're just bored or toxic.
... of an unfinished game? Nevermind, it's good that you ask. But I have to disappoint you.
I can tell you, there are skilled people that wanted to see what they could do. They also shared their work (mods). Reaction? Many people of the game community love mods. But the dev's (Redamz) closest people are mad at modders. Why? The dev does not welcome mods of any kind! That's official. Certain links to modded files have been deleted on his Discord. And there are clear statements you can search for.
The result is that some modders give up and leave. Other modders keep modding anywhere in the background and share their works anywhere (on some small Discord server, a Chinese website, a website for modders around the world, ...) or keep them secret.
Even I wanted to become a modder because it's fun for that type of game.
About the future of the game and mods: No modder I've seen ever stated that it's hard to mod MGI. I would say it's easy if you know what you're doing. According to the big size of the community, some mod projects might be happening right now. I can't tell you if the dev will try his best to take everything down as soon as he sees finished mod projects (extra story/whole scenes).
He's a procastinator and it showed from day 1, people just kept enabling him like idiots and this is how it ends.
Gl getting your money back.
