We like to call him the "dodgeroll check".
Bosses scale difficulty depending on the order your beat them (you can freely chose which dungeon you take first once you have unlocked them) and also depending on the number of players.
This boss is probably the most aggressive of the bunch, and I can understand how he can be perceived as ruthless. In the next patch (not in current demo), we have toned down the charge attack by giving it a couple frames where there's a cue hinting that he's going to attack. This should help players avoiding this particular attack more easily.
If you want me to spoil the game a bit, I can give you some advice to beat him on a regular basis:
I would advise to try and dodgeroll through, and attack from behind: he takes a bit of time to turn around. Also, try to deal as much damage as you can with ranged options if your character has any.
Blocking and/or Parrying with the Warrior or Amazon can be very efficient. Jumping downward arrows with the Rogue is a good move as you usually get out of harm's way when doing it. Sending the Elemental with the Wizard (and unsummoning it before it gets killed) is also an efficient strategy. Also note with the Wizard that you can send the Energy Ball through the arena and summon the Elemental while the Energy Ball is still alive).
During the falling icicles phases, you can revive fallen comrades if playing multi, and each class has options other than dodgerolls to avoid the icicles. Jumping, though a natural reflex, is not always helpful.
Also, 3 potions helped a lot :) and my lava spike wand.
really love the game so far, I'm excited to get my butt kicked by the rest of the bosses! :)
Thanks <3
We limited the size of each arena so they can be correctly displayed for local coop. I know this might feel claustrophobic, but we can't really make it any bigger. The Charge attack was recently given a couple extra warmup frames so the attack is easier to avoid.
Does the bosses difficulty such as health/aggresiveness scale according to more players? i.e. 3-4 players vs solo?
Yes, there's some balancing depending on the number of players (Health, Damage and Speed).
