We would like to create new classes post launch, if the game is well received.
Making a support class is tricky though, as it has to be viable solo too. The closest you can get to support your Allies in this game is following the Path of Life, with perks that allows to buff/heal Allies and Followers.
There's already a bit of summoning with some items that let's you create skeletons or revives foes as ghots (kind of like a necromancer), and that stuff is in the demo already :)
A Dwarf engineer was on my drawing board as well :) Thing is that we need to make sure he's not mistaken with the other dwarves from the fortress
That's a cool idea and something we could be working on :)
Currently, if you equip all gear from the same school, you'll actually get the Templar Achievement, and also the Fashionista award at the end of the game.
If you happen to follow the same path as your gear's elements, you'll probably be pretty OP as well with the 30% bonus to gear of those elements that a perk from the path provides.
Some items do have synergies, and can be considered mini sets: the Impish Stone is pretty much made to work with the Necromancer's Hand, or the Wand that summons skeletons (not available in demo).
It's true, there's a bit of RNG involved, but there's no other way: you gain stuff during the whole run, you couldn't choose your path at the end.
There's an Alchimist NPC who can change an item into another of equivalent power and from the element of the level he's currently on. This mitigates the randomness of equipment, while avoiding players always going for the same loadout.
