My thoughts after playing for two hours
A lot of people have made good points about bad reviews with only 30 min gameplay and how there is a learning curve on how to manage your energy and such. I'm right at the 2 hour mark, so I'll relay what my experience was so far.
Having your energy drain from walking around is realistic. Personally, I don't care for it. I'd much rather have energy/stamina solely devoted to actions like digging, planting, watering, etc. But it's logical as a feature on a survival game and if you want it implemented that is fair enough.
I do think that running consumes way too much energy way too fast, which forces me to play the game at a slowpoke's pace. I've seen on other threads that the devs will be rebalancing that, so thank you! Other games I've played often have in-game items or upgrades that can either speed up the character or cut back on energy loss, so maybe that could be an option too if your coding allows it?

With the whole walking/running being slow/consuming too much, what bothers me the most is the way the camp is arranged coupled with how the fetch quests are so back-and-forth. The shacks are all very spread apart, so if I have to talk to two or three people to get one task done, it takes so much time just getting from one place to another that I often need to go and sleep between one person and the next.

The fisherman quest was particularly time consuming because I imagined his fishing pole would have been someplace else, so I went around looking over all the empty sandbanks. Thinking about it now, I'm not sure, but I feel like his fishing pole was exactly where he was? But the little box was closed? So I had to find him, take him to camp, talk to him again and go back to the very same place he was before to retrieve an item that wasn't available to me when I was there the first time? I don't find that fun. Maybe if getting there was quicker and didn't consume so much, I wouldn't be as bothered, but all these little things piled up.

I've been excitedly waiting for this game for a while now and I'm right at the limit for a refund. I don't have a lot of time to devote to games and I play them in order to relax. As it is right now, the game is just too slow paced in general for me to truly enjoy it. I don't know if I'll be getting a refund just yet, I'll probably wait for a bit and read up on the changes made, but I'm not going to leave a negative review or anything.
Either way, to the dev team and everyone involved with the game, thank you for listening and commenting on our feedback! I do hope the game is successful even if it ends up not being my cup of tea!

Get used to rowing that boat! You will grow to hate it. I was having fun up until the 8 hour mark, but getting supplies to craft is beyond annoying. Having to walk across an entire island to get wood I can almost forgive, I wish trees could be cut down everywhere while on my way to another objective.

But having to row to another island to open a few boxes to get scraps is just awful! I need 12 wood scraps, 2 islands and a half hour later I found 3. Let me break rocks for metal, and cut grass for rope, and have that stuff littered everywhere so I can do it while exploring.

Having to wait for the boxes to re-spawn and watching my toon row that boat for another 6 mins is painful!

Double thumbs up for Andyaspen13's comment...

I've got vegies coming out my ears waiting for boxes and trees to respawn. Got plenty of metal, but looking for those pieces of hardwood and rope pieces is a pita. At the very least, we should be able to make hardwood fragments once you've unlocked and can access the hardwood trees.

I could easily see another plant (flax? Cotton?) for getting the fibers to make the rope (pieces).
and yes, hitting rocks for ore would be nice too.

Some other things...

Where are the Ironwood trees?

Why are hardwood fragments needed for metal braces

Why are rope pieces needed for making dowels?

Unless it is made with a cable core, why do we need metal pieces for Rugged Rope?

Had the same! Totally agreed. And it wasn't fun! Please relocate the fishing pole on the other island maybe?
