The game won't start
Hi.

I have Windows 8.1 64 bit. I've seen there's a lot of people not being able to start the game. But my "error" is different than the rest.

My problem is that the window opens up for like half a second and then it closes. No error message displayed on screen.

Any solution? Should I wait for a fix or ask for a refund?

these two really try their best so i personally would love to hear that you for now wait for a fix instead of getting a refund. also im 100% certain that sooner than later these problems will be fixed.

when i have that situation you describe with other games, the first things i always try, are compatibility modi, as well as always run as admin.
the standard path where you can find the exe is:
C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Cattle Call
when you right click it and go to properties (should be on the bottom) you can go to compatibility and check always admin as well as run as win 7 etc. i would experiement a bit to see if anything works.
else i would check if your drivers are up to date

edit: for me often win 7 works if win 8-10 doesnt^^

I'm on Windows 10. Worked fine.

Check your drivers are also up to date on Win 8.1.

As above, run in Win 7 compatibility to test, but also check/disable any virus protection. Norton is always a bear on games.

Hopefully you can get it running.

Hi Spidey. Will look at that too, currently neck deep in trying to fix the "shader must be null" bug.

Thanks guys for the replies. No, it won't work changing compatibility mode or executing as administrator.

To the developer: I think I'll wait before asking for a refund. It's a pity cause I really wanted to try this game today. Anyways, hope you can solve all the problems.

I have the same bug with the 64 database, it does not work. But for me it is not a problem, I'm eager to try the game, but bugs and problems are usual in this kind of projects in this stages.

I would like if they can fix it soon, but I will be patient of course :)

AccessDatabaseEngine.exe did u run this again and chose reinstall or repair? maybe there went smth wrong coz u didnt get any error messages

Yes, lex-legis, I'd already try that but to no avail.

Anyways I have good news! With the latest update the game now starts! :) I have to try it now. One thing I'm noticing though is that the window won't fit the screen (there's some of it that goes behind the task bar on the bottom).

move your task bar to the top of the screen, thats what i did
