I was on the fence on this one. It looked childish and yet fun. Well it most definitely is childish. The story and dialogue is just not entertaining enough so I end up skipping most of it. But it has a great style and it did get a few small chuckles from me.

And the tower defense game sections are really good. It really makes me feel like I am playing an old newgrounds game in vr. It started off easy buy quickly got challenging. I can only assume I will get more stuff to unlock as I progress further. I wanted to keep playing last night when it was time to go to bed.

Update. So I upgraded my gun to see weak spots...and this apparently broke the game. every enemy is now basically a one hit kill..even the dinosaur boss only takes a few hits to kill now. Its too easy now..way way too easy. I am starting a new game in hopes of keeping the challenge alive.

No extra levels or game modes makes this not such a worthwhile game.


,,,Update again. A few more levels in and yet no more towers. I started with 3 and I still only have 3 towers. Im not sure i can recommend this anymore. Too easy and only 3 towers. I barely have any strategy. It plays more like a survival game because i am teleporting around the map because only i can really do damage.

Last update...I actually just finished the game last night. And in the later levels the upgrades are definitely needed... it becomes super challenging..But there was only one more tower...and it is the coolest. And it did add just enough variety..even though i wished there was more. Because it feels like it really does not matter what tower I choose. Most of the damage is done by me. And It still feels like a survival game, but it was pretty fun. if a bit short. I want an endless wave mode. with lots of tower locations

And it might just be me. But once we actually saw the villain...I loved it. The voice was just a voice, but that villain looks awseome..and I love the way he moves and looks.

Overall I did enjoy the game. it is polished, I like the cartoony feel...Oh but hey!!! WHy dont we ever see toon head? Why toonhead? Oh well..

I've only put a half hour or so into the game as of this review but I wanted to do what I could to spread the support for it. It's an interesting blend of high production values but also complete and total ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ lunacy wrapped up in a super tight Tower Defense Strategy game. Self-publishing this could not have been easy for the developers but the end result is something to absolutely not be missed.

I don't want to ruin any details about the weapons or the enemies but this is the kind of high quality chaos that VR needs so much more of right now. The graphics are sharp and the game pumps out completely bonkers concepts on repeat like it's nothing. I love VR strategy games and this one absolutely blows the rest out of the water. Buy it and love it, it's just that easy.

One of the best tower defense games I have played in VR. If you like tower defense games this one is not to be missed. Set in a zany cartoon world, the humorous story kept me wanting to play until the end.

Your not just watching from above in this one, you are on the ground right in the action. You also get to ride on and control the turrets!

Humor is subjective, but I was very amused by the story, environments and weapons. Some of the dialog even made me laugh out loud. Weapons and turrets were super fun and lighthearted. The gun has a bobble head dog on top of it and you can throw a flip-flop (chancla) at enemies!

Game elements are added slowly as not to overwhelm and provides a lot of upgrade options to help when the difficultly ramps up. It does get quite challenging by the end!

Biggest negatives are the lack of support for Index and WMR. I tried this with Index controllers and it did not work (though bindings maybe able to customized to get it working, I have not tried this at the time of this review). Also while riding the turrets are a really great feature, but the way it is activated by raising your hands above your head, sometimes results in it being accidentally triggered when shooting at flying enemies above you.

i got this game on oculus and the quest and im really enjoying the game as i love tower defence games but i cant get my quest 2 controllers to work on the steam version its really frustrating has anyone eles had this problem?

I think this is the Persona 5 of VR games, it has a lot of style!

Captain ToonHead vs the Punks from Outer Space is a Humoristic Tower Defense VR game.

You are the janitor of your ship, you discover all the crew die so you have to complish the mission from some general from earth but seems at the end we skip the mission for save this cute cubes.

The game has a lot of humour with interesting characters but the game is focused as an tower defense game where you can use 2 type of weapons some ultraskills and 4 type of turrets, I wish they delay the release for adding more towers and weapons but well the game it's cool as it's already.

As enemies I see a lot more content there are more enemy types than turrets with diferents upgrades like armors or shields.

The gameplay is solid and fun with diferent upgrades on towers and weapons, arround 6-7 hours for complete it fully.

I was sent the game to try the new survival Mode. I will later update this review on the campaign part of the game. Currently I really enjoyed the Survival mode and you learn what each creatures abilities are along with what is the best way to take them out.

NOTE: In survival mode I was first stumped how to change sectors. Apparently it wasnt any buttons on your physical remote but on your digital remote/glove. On your digital wrist put the other hand over to press the button to switch sectors or get sent to the main screen to select it.

I will definitely play this some more But I warn you one more time turns into many without you realizing it. ;-). Only got to the end of sector 2 so when i try more i will be able to see whats at the end or if there is an end.

Interesting take on the tower defense genre. Takes a bit to get used to, but it plays pretty good and is interesting so far. Im using a quest 2 with virtual desktop to play, I had issues with moving and found that I had to edit the controller bindings to get it to work.

I had fun playing this so far, its fun but not super serious.
