what is the difference between the jamestown and jamestown + game?

The game looks like a nice shoot em up retro style, but I don't really understand the difference between the 2. Is the second the sequel to the first? or is it a sort of goty edition like dlc maybe?

Plus is the original game with more content. you have two new levels, four new customizable ships, and the super gauntlet mode. There are also gameplay and graphics tweaks too.

Essential Jamestown+ is the game and the DLC. Jamestown is just the base game but you can purchase the DLC

Incorrect. Jamestown+ has more than Jamestown + DLC.

Neither the original edition nor the DLC contains the extra levels, Super Gauntlet, the gameplay or graphical tweaks.

Jamestown+ is also free of the ridiculously unreasonable achievements that Final Form Games removed from every successive release of Jamestown on consoles (e.g. beat the entire game on the hardest difficulty without ever being hit, lmao). They just never went back and sanitised the original PC release.

Jamestown isn't supported anymore and crashes on initialization for many users. Jamestown+ is supported by the developers.
