E' come fare un giro su delle noiose montagne russe, binario unico, jumpscare banali e prevedibili, durata ridicola e sopratutto bug a non finire nella modalità online. La mia partita è andata persa perchè il gioco si bloccava al recupero delle bombole d'ossigeno dopo aver riavviato al corrente prima di chiamare i soccorsi (all' 83% di completamento), è tutto documentato sulla diretta di Twitch.
Non c'è davvero possibilità di scegliere, la mia partita sarà uguale al 90% alla tua, in piu' per interagire con un oggetto devi fare dalle 3-4 azioni - Premi X sulla chiave, allunga la mano per prenderla premi R2, ora che l'hai in mano tieni premuto R2 e muovi l'analogico per esaminarla, NON LASCIARE R2 ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ sennò devi rifare tutto, ora che l'hai esaminata premi X per rimetterla a posto...

Il peggiore del suo genere.

Allora,sicuramente un titolo interessante e non per tutti.Finito in poco piú di 4 ore con 2 sopravvissuti su 5 e ho sbloccato 6 achievement su 30,quindi non sono stato un degno giocatore del genere.Detto questo,esprimo il mio giudizio personale.
Grafica impeccabile,movimenti molto realistici,musica ed effetti sonori azzeccati.La trama intriga poco,mi aspettavo di piú onestamente.Giocato da solo,niente ansia,niente paura (a parte 2 balzetti) e qui mi ha deluso non poco.
Personalmente ho trovato il titolo un po lento,alle volte noioso se devo esser sincero.Questo titolo ha poca interattivitá e i 3 personaggio mi sono morti a causa di inaspettata interazione,xché sembra un film,leggi,guardi e ti compare a cazum il pulsante da premere per un'azione molto velocemente,forse si hanno un paio di secondi,ma non ne sono certo.
La mia esperienza personale con questo titolo é stata insoddisfatta per 3 punti sostanziali.
1)Niente ansia e paura
2)Storia breve e poco coinvolgente
3)Lento e poco interattivo
Consiglio questo gioco per chi ama il genere non superiore alle 15€

This game is super mixed for me. I love what the developers are trying to do and Until Dawn was amazing.

This game is a bit different. The game seems to focus on cheap jump scares all of the damn time to keep you on edge which is a huge red flag for any kind of horror story telling imo. Yeah of course someone will scare when you blast a sound in their face. Its just cheap, not creative and lazy. I didn't buy this game to experience a haunted house, I wanted to experience a damn horror story. What happens to your character seems to rely more on how quick you can smash a button rather than actual choices like in Until Dawn.

I hope in your next game you really focus on creating a scary atmosphere that doesn't rely at all on jump scares to keep your audience on edge. Think of the best horror movies ever made. Alien, Hereditary, Silence of the Lambs, Nosferatu, Rosemary's Baby, The Shining. None of these fully focused on jump scares to keep the tension going. They all rely on the feeling of dread and a buildup of psychological instability and character development to survive, which is true horror. Your game has elements of these, but they are not the main focus and do not really shine.

In più di un'occasione mi sono sbellicato dalle risate per quanto cheap fosse la storia. Innanzitutto, è un gioco senza mistero perché la ragione di tutto l'orrore è svelata nel primo capitolo. Quando conosci già il perché delle cose non è che la cosa possa appassionare più di tanto, a meno di non so quali virtuosismi della sceneggiatura che qui, fidatevi, proprio non ci sono.

Il gioco è pieno di jump scare al punto che, visto il non-mistero di cui sopra, il jump scare è l'unico elemento thriller a cui può aggrapparsi: passi la torcia nel buio e d'improvviso comprare un topo, c'è un cambio d'inquadratura ed un'ombra si muove improvvisamente in primo piano, apri un armadietto e spunta un cadavere (?). A un certo punto c'è una buona mezzora di jump scare uno dietro l'altro che finiscono per la loro assurdità con l'avere l'effetto opposto e diventa una sequenza involontariamente comica.

Riconosco che il gioco è comunque abbastanza onesto: cosa ci si può aspettare da un titolo che prevede un gruppo di ragazzotti ricchi e fighi che si avventurano in un'attività illegale in mare aperto? Ci si può aspettare qualcosa di estremamente prevedibile in perfetta scia dei teen horror americani, piatto nei personaggi e nella storia, senza idee nella regia. Probabilmente un passatempo no-brainer come richiede il mercato, intendiamoci.

Fra l'altro alla prima partita ho già salvato tutti.

Troppo monotono e poca interazione con il gioco stesso. Sembra di vedere un film in TV.

Gioco di per se carino ma veramente troppo corto, in 3 ore finisce. Il prezzo per giocare così poco non ne vale veramente la pena, inoltre, per giocare in co-op vi avverto cancellate i caratteri speciali dal nick altrimenti la co-op con i vostri amici non partirà mai. (2 ore perse solo per questo problema).

SOLUZIONE AL BLACK SCREEN IN FONDO ALLA RECENSIONE!

Era molto tempo che aspettavo di poter giocare un titolo della Supermassive games sul mio pc e finalmente è uscito Man of Medan.

Ieri tutto contento mi compro e scarico il gioco e inizio a giocarlo. Subito si riscontra una grafica eccelsa: il mio pc che da sempre fa girare tutto a qualità massima ha dovuto adeguarsi a dei requisiti medi e va bene così, non mi aspettavo nulla di meno dai creatori di Until Dawn.

Ora la nota (molto) dolente, al completamento del prologo mi sono ritrovato con uno schermo nero infinito (no, non era un caricamento, non c'era nessuna barra progresso) e di fatto ho dovuto smettere di giocare. Oggi ho provato ancora a concludere il prologo su un altro salvataggio pensando che fosse corrotto il primo ma non è cambiato nulla, il gioco si blocca sempre allo stesso modo nello stesso punto rendendo di fatto impossibile proseguire la partita.

Impedire di giocare mi sembra una cosa così grossa che immagino una patch sia in arrivo molto presto (anche perchè leggo di gente con il mio stesso problema) ma finchè non arriverà il titolo rimane off limits dopo appena 10/15 min di gioco.

Sperando in una patch che mi farà correggere subito la mia recensione rimango in attesa :(


Edit: ho trovato una soluzione a questo problema e la riporto qui di seguito, il mio voto però non cambia perchè è ridicolo doversi arrangiare per riuscire a far andare un gioco che dovrebbe essere un prodotto fatto e finito per cui si PAGA.
PER RISOLVERE IL PROBLEMA DEL BLACK SCREEN SEMPLICEMENTE ANDATE NELLA CARTELLA DI INSTALLAZIONE DEL GIOCO, TROVATE TUTTI I FILE .mp4 E CAMBIATENE L'ESTENSIONE IN .bak.
per gli utilizzatori di windows 10 dovrebbe bastare, per chi utilizza windows 7, come me, fate anche tasto destro sull'exe (non sul collegamento che avete sul desktop) del gioco -> proprietà e cercate tra le tab l'opzione per avviarlo in modalità compatibile a windows 7. Per me tutto questo ha funzionato e sono riuscito a finire il gioco!

I really wanted to like this game, but I simply cannot see past its multiple flaws.

Horror elements
Two words: Jump Scares. If an ugly face appearing in a doorframe, accompanied by a loud noise is the pinnacle of scary for you, you might enjoy this game. Never did I get a real sense of dread, just a slight uneasiness due to anticipation of the next QTE. The boat offers a lot of good opportunities to create a real oppressive atmosphere, but apart from the “ballroom scene” it is all just so dull and repetitive (I honestly think this is done on purpose to make you sleepy and more deceptive for the next loud noise that wakes you up and tricks you into thinking you got scared).
It also does not help that the twist is so incredibly obvious and robs you of any tension. I am not saying that I am some sort of genius (trust me, I am not), I just felt it was implied from the very beginning.

Cheap deaths
There are some death scenes that are quite entertaining, don`t get me wrong. I realize that this is what a lot of people come to this game for. Unfortunately a lot of the deaths come down to “I did not press the X Button fast enough” or “I somehow picked the wrong conversation choice”. It feels unearned and cheap.
Replaying those scenes to see what you did wrong and change it would be an option, of course, but that would require a good story you actually care for and want to explore further.

Since the story consists mainly of characters walking through very similar looking, dull corridors and hiding from ghosts and Frenchmen while figuring out what is going on hours after you, the player, have figured it out already, it was very hard for me to be interested in any of it. All the acts before the ship are ok, though and had me, dare I say it, invested (gasp!).

Characters
As I said I quite enjoyed the first acts of the game where you get to know and interact with this misfit group of jerks and wet blankets. Your focus shifts back and forth, so you can experience everyones perspective.
The performances range (in my opinion) from good (Conrad/Julia) to bad (Alex/Fliss). The interactions are convincing enough for you to be slightly interested in where this whole group is going. For me it got worse when they end up on the ship, but overall the characters are not a bad part of the game. I still have no idea why it matters if they like each other or not, though.

Turning wheels
My biggest issue with the game, apart from being not scary, is that you can see the mechanics working in the backgrounds every step of the way. Since the story changes depending on which decisions you made earlier in the game it is necessary to have a multitude of scenes that reflect those decisions. The game handles this very poorly. Especially in the later parts of the game you can observe the game struggling to piece together a coherent story by loading in the “correct” scenes. Tonal shifts from one scene to the other, people jumping from one side of the room to the other etc. make that very apparent and destroy any attempt at immersion. In a game that falls flat without a compelling narrative and atmosphere, that is a sin to me.

The Curator
I like him. Good dude with a dope haircut.

Walking simulator, dialoghi banali, senza senso e ridondanti. Per non parlare del doppiaggio in italiano e delle animazioni facciali. Veramente veramente NOIOSO. Difficile voler proseguire. Bocciatissimo!

entrambi i salvataggi il mio e quello dell'amico sono praticamente inutilizzabili, il gioco si pianta nel solito punto con me che finisco una scena e vado in un caricamento e lui che mentre cammina si pianta completamente, appena ci entro.

A questo punto direi che ci sono problemi con la modalità coop
Speriamo in qualche patch, per ora è ingiocabile

sembrano aver fixato con un aggiornamento il problema del gioco che si pianta comunque il prodotto generale è un b movie trito e ritrito prevedibilissimo che non ti lascia niente. Non che until dawn fosse un capolavoro della madonna ma è comunque 100 volte meglio di questa roba
