Any way to play online coop if other person doesn't have the game?

Hi folks, i'm just curious if there is any way to play the online coop version with someone who doesn't own the game too.

I know you can play it via "remote play", but that way you are playing the couch coop version of the game which is afaik the regular singleplayer type of experience, only with handing over the controller if a different character needs to be played.


But the online coop version is different, that the other person(s) can play even story and character situations the singleplayer mode won't even touch.

I know there was a friends pass for this reason, but everywhere i look, it says, it isn't working anymore. So is there any way to play the online coop story arc with someone who doesn't own the game?

Hey Nihil - I'm afraid the Shared Story mode is only playable by two players who own the game, or else when the Friend Pass is active (which it isn't currently, and hasn't been for quite some time).

If you would like to play with another player online in this format, you'll need to both have your own game copy.

Yeah I already played through it once with a friend who owns the game. But since it was so enjoyable together, wanted to share this feeling with an other friend too who doesn't own the game.
But since i don't know how different the story goes when payed in movie night mode, maybe we will try it that way :)

Man of Medan has a lot of different paths and choices to be made, so maybe you can use your Movie Night playthrough with this friend as an opportunity to explore some of the outcomes that you've never experienced before!
