Could you at all provide a video showing what happens? Additionally, can you tell me whether you were able to move after your partner player descended into the inside of the ship and looked around there?
Did the conversation with Fliss complete, or did you get stuck mid-conversation?

-Unfortunately, I do not have a recording of when I played this moment with my partner. Also it's worth mentioning that we both played on Steam Deck.
-Once stuck, the person stuck talking to Fliss is unable to move until the game advances, I believe that's when Julia is finished setting up the diving equipment, even if the other player goes below deck.
-The conversation with Fliss works for the first player who interacts with her (with Player 1 or Player 2). Afterward, if either Player tries to interact with her, they will get stuck standing in front of Fliss, and the conversation will not play.
I'm a game dev myself, I'm thinking a value with Fliss' interaction code isn't getting reset somewhere. The code to let the player interact with the environment seems to be running fine; an indicator pops up in front of her after the first player walks away, so that the second player knows they can talk to her. But, perhaps the code that keeps track of whether or not Fliss is busy in a conversation still thinks she's busy with the previous player. So, interaction begins, but the conversation won't open? Just a guess.
It is unfortunate that a recording is not available, but I'll see if the team are able to reproduce the issue without one. You mentioned that this only happens to the second player who talks to Fliss, is that correct? The first person can always walk away after the first interaction with her?
And to confirm, this is at the point at which Julia is preparing the rebreathers for the dive, and Alex is meant to check on Brad in the body of the boat?
Does it make a difference at all if waiting longer to speak to Fliss a second time, or else interacting with other items / characters in between?
Thank you in advance for any additional details you can provide - I'm trying to gain the most comprehensive understanding of the issue that I can in order to pass on as much information as possible for reproduction attempts to take place.

Yes, it is while Fliss is in her Captain's chair and Julia is preparing rebreathers, one of the first moments in the game where the players can free roam. For example, Conrad can talk to Fliss, and Alex can talk to Julia just fine. But, after this, if Conrad walks away and Alex tries to talk to Fliss, the player playing as Alex will get stuck, and no conversation will happen.
From what I remember, since we had to restart from a check point and try again, I believe we did try having whoever would speak to Fliss second examine other objects before talking to Fliss, and they still got stuck. I think it was my partner as Alex who got stuck the first time (meaning I talked to Fliss as Conrad first), and me as Conrad the second time.
It's pretty easy to recreate thankfully, it's something that most players will likely want to do if trying to interact with everything before moving on. Both characters can talk to Julia, interact with the picture inside the boat cabin, look at Fliss's license, etc. The player talking to Fliss second seems to be the only issue.
I'd also like to mention that I have encountered similar bugs (relating to getting stuck, whether briefly or permanently) in this game as well as in the other Dark Pictures games even while playing the game on Windows. I do not think this is Steam-Deck/Linux/Proton specific, but I could be wrong. So, if this problem is solved, the solution may be able to be applied to other bugs.
Thanks for reading!
We also had another problem on the boat, when
Alex (myself) sees Julia (my friend) as a two headed zombie, when I attacked her once, and then refuse to continue attacking her, my camera cuts to a different part of the boat with no characters (looks like the camera shouldn't be there cuz there are missing wall textures) and the game just locks up. It doesn't crash, but nothing happens and neither I nor my friend are able to do anything to make it progress further. The only way to make it progress was to continue to attack Julia.
This just happened to me and a buddy. We are playing on PlayStation 5. I guess, it’s not that big of a deal. If you hang around the second player can trigger the story to advance once the equipment is ready for the dive.
So I managed to record it, I don’t know the easiest way to share the video on steam so I added it to my profile.
Pretty much same for me, was able to move after the story progressed, additionally when my player partner ran into me I was stepping out of the way twice, you can see it in the video!
Hope this helps
